That's unfortunate :( Maybe when you're older you can tho? I know that here if you want to teach private school you just need a masters, and if you want to teach public school you can have a bachelors in anything and you need a certification. Idk, mate. I loved it but more and more, it was making me depressed and anxious.

I recently saw a former, fellow philosophy major. It was 2am and we were both at some 24hr taco place. I was there alone, having just finished drinking with new, mostly male friends, and he showed up with three "blondes", having just left some fraternity party; he's in a fraternity. It's funny to watch how he's become more and more "fratty" over the years. That's amplified by the fact that we're from an over-enrolled, West Coast, public school. He's graduating this quarter and going to law school in the Fall. I was somewhat happy for him but I won't lie: I felt a twinge of jealousy. He reminds me of many like him whom I've met before: ambitious, vibrant, so full of life. I used to like people like that, but then I found out that many of them are manipulative and driven only by the material. But maybe I'm assuming too much. Meanwhile, I'll be staying another year here. Still very much alone.

I often wonder how the other half lives. I don't know what happened to my self-esteem, my confidence in what I was doing.

Sorry to just spill all of that out but I needed it.

SCP? I wish it were copypasta. Camus once wrote of the eloquent void.

I don't know quite know how to fix my life, if there's anything precisely wrong with it in the first place. I'm only 22 but already, I feel like I'm too old. I keep wondering whether I've already missed out, whether I've had or am having enough fun. It used to make me want to cry when older folks told me "College is the best time of your life! math is literally the most beautiful thing in the world and the only real science in existence, you probably don't dislike math, you need to actually study it from the very beginning, strip every possible interpretation away and just see mathematical objects, it's much easier that way, and then you will realize how and why everything works, stay away from calculus problems and focus on concepts and definitions

Intro classes are complete horse shit, it will get better

Hi everyone so I'm doing computer science and I was counting my credits the other day and I have like 4 free classes I can take before going over the credit limit. I want to take physics courses and my 4th class can be quantum physics if I do the prerequisites right but I also want to go to grad school for CS and I'm worried the physics courses would be irrelevant and would hurt my chances of getting into a good one.

My other option is taking more CS electives which would be cool but I would like the physics thing more

if you are going to a decent undergrad institution or one that has a law school attached to it, you should be fine as long as you honestly try to learn and do well in your studies

also don't major in pre-law or criminal justice, you should major in things that stereo typically "smart-people" major in, such as science/math/engineering/philosophy, by majoring in these subjects you will learn to think clearly/more better and be good at solving problems.

http://www.potsdam.edu/academics/AAS/Phil/upload/LSAT-Scores-of-Majors.pdf

the tables on these websites should give u an idea on what you should study and what you should avoid studying

Yeah, it's a job that's always going to be around. I don't know what it's like where you live but jobs are tight as fuck for law but if you get a good GPA and extra curricular stuff on your resume you might get snatched up for a clerkship that gets your foot in the door for a job.
Alternatively a lot of people do law and commerce or something and get a job in business since they love people with law degree there then try to become a legal practitioner through other means.

Ultimately, there's always jobs for someone with a law degree but not necessarily as a lawyer straight away.

well there's different kinds of nanotech. chemistry allows u to go into bionano, thin film nano, bottom-up nano, nanoelectronics, etc. tho if u pick yr electives right and find a good grad lab

y'll need to go to grad school, but u won't find anything called 'nanotechnology' unless u go to some shit university in china or india.

I meant everyone is doing it as in every field is moving toward nanotechnology, which requires some understanding of quantum (not physics level tho) and quantum chemistry. so like if u like medicine u can go into doing medical nanotechnology research

i dunno what u like so i'm just plugging my own experience. i am researching solar cells but everything i'm doing is novel techniques, there's a lot of room to be creative in the field cuz u get more control over what yr working with

if yr good at it u won't have to worry about a job, but y'll have to go get a PhD and then do post-docs if u wanna continue with research, unless u work at like IBM or something (y'll have to get straght A's tho)

Australia its shit currently, basically your only option if you wanna do clinical practice is go relocate to bumfuck the middle of nowhere and hopefuly find a small hospital that needs your services. Thats or maybe relocate to Canada or New Zealand to see if its any better
