Are there products that exist only to smell good?

My haircut place uses some shitty wax but it smells amazing. I forget to ask what it is every time.

That's an impressive collection dude. What are your top 3?

I'm a heavy user so I'd have to say Schmiere Hart, O'Doud's Heavy and Bench Press.

If you just want scent I'd just get some Suavecito original honestly. Smells great and water based which is probably what you want.

>> No.9676878

What might you recommend me for my next product? Suavecito was great, smelled nice and was water based but just wanted to branch out. Tried Murray's next as "babbys-first-oil-based" and am not liking it. Smell took some getting used to, and spreads too thick and doesn't keep my hair down that well. (Could be due to me having longer hair now.) I want water-based for my next one, and though I keep some Suavecito around for days I need better hair, I love trying new ones. I thought I might try something with a peppermint smell? Not sure.

Yeah, Murray's is pretty bad. It gets the job done but there's much better. For oil >>9676221
For water based Layrite Superhold and Admiral are GOAT of course. If you want something interesting try Anchor Teddy Boy original, it's a water based in that it washes out with one rinse, but unlike other water based pomades it does not dry out. You can recomb it more easily throughout the day. Hold is a little lacking though, but it's a nice one and has a nice peppermint smell like you're looking for

you ever tried "imperial pomade"?
if yes, u have thouhts on it?

its been my fav for a while now
feels and smells the most "natural" of all the hair products ive used (which tbh, is not a big list)

Just ordered Teddy Boy, the Amazon reviews seemed pretty fond of it. Thanks!

Verdict?

I'm interested in trying it, but it's a pinch expensive.

I have not tried it unfortunately. I'm sure I'll get some in the future!

I can't find the right pomade. I used Dax wave and groom for a long time and recently tried Dax green and gold (not enough hold, but made my hair really healthy) and I'm trying admiral and not liking the lack of hold. Is there a pomade that holds well, washes out fairly easily, doesn't dry, and smells good?

I don't know how you came up with a comparison of pomade and wax. Pomade is just a hair product that is composed of petroleum, wax, oils, and scents. Ingredients vary from company/brewer. Pomades that are wax based tend to be heavier while the petroleums are lighter or mediums. There's also vegan/completely natural pomades. And for those of you who do not know water based "pomades" aren't actually pomade, it's expensive gel. I still own some waterbased though.

Maybe try the cool grease line? I've heard good things about them but haven't had the chance to get my hands on any.

Best wax I've ever used. It's incredibly strong, scentless when it dries, and you only need a small fingertip full honestly.

Just melt it with the blow drier, emulsify in hands, apply.

Pinch, matte it down, do whatever. Cold shot it, diffuse dry it, do whatever!

It's incredible stuff. But if you use too much, your hair will look greasy and shine.

I use Mr.pomade natural beeswax. Its pretty expensive, but not outlandishly expensive and it's really, really good.

Pic related. I'll probably pick up some of their pomade too.
