With your face yes,With your height, I'm not sure, it's not tall enough to land you in a "top" agency. To cut it for Ford, IMG, etc. you need to be 6'2'' and interesting looking nowadays. But you would likely get runway work, which is what /fa/ thinks is cool.

Depends who accepts you, and how your Polaroids are received by casting agents. You'll probably get a couple hundred for the several shows you'll get a month. You won't be a tumblr hearthrob or anything, but you have a "model enough" face. So I'd say only do it if you're going to school in NY, or a major city in europe and need money to go out on the weekends. You don't have the face or height to be one of the famous guys, do not waste your time moving to a big city to be "internet famous" if you have good job or university prospects already.

If cash is your goal it's easy money, I'm just being blunt and saying don't drive far and waste gas, or move and pay a ton of rent just to do a few modeling gigs. If you are already in a city that has agencies, then definitely go to an open casting or submit polaroids, you'll get a couple hundred a month at first and then into the thousands once you're established and agents trust you to show up and shit.

There's people that float on and off this board that know more about male modeling shit than me, maybe they'll see this thread. There used to be like 10 threads a day on /fa/ a few years ago.

In larger cities, several times a year, might even be once a month, Agencies, pretty much all of them, do open castings. An open casting is when you show up, and the agents, or usually their interns, line everybody up and send you through a room one by one and basically just look you over. You usually fill out a sheet or a card and hand it to them when you walk in, they contact you if they liked you, or if they really like you, they'll sign you on the spot. Somebody else may be able to lend their experience.

You're not good looking enough IMO, just kind of drab with droopy eyes and a purposefully starved aesthetic, which isn't particular flattering to your skull structure, even though /fa/ says that manorexia is all the rage. But at 6 ft., you could at least be the token uglier model for a clothes retailer site or something. You'll be the model that normal-looking people can look at and be like "oh sick, if this weird looking balding guy can pull this shirt off, it should look fine on me."

Before you send photos off for modelling, make sure to open your image in Photoshop or whatever and flip it horizontally. This is what a lot of agencies do as a quick method before they look seriously at your structures or whatever.
If your face looks weird or different flipped horizontally you are fucked and don't bother because the agencies won't bother. Basically you're looking to see if you are symmetrical.

can't really give any tips, i don't think you can make it big, i got extremely lucky getting scouted, right place right time, i live in london so it's the right city etc. I know my agency actually looks at applications so I think applying is definitely worth doing if you're serious, but if you're doing local stuff anyway you're on the right lines, imo it just depends on where you live, definitely apply though if you want to

nah i just look at it as me being a blank slate, i'm not what you're looking at, you're looking at the clothes, i'm kinda just a canvas that designers use, i've met some really really humble models and some who are totally up themselves, in my experience though the unsigned models i've met are the most pretentious, because they think they should be modelling, most guys who get scouted (myself included) never really considered it until it happened. It takes pretentiousness to apply to model, but i guess you need that if you're gonna go anywhere

yeah my modelling career is kinda weird i haven't had much actually out, but i've been paid to do nothing, like YSL wanted me to be in the woman's show aswell as the men's, so i went to paris and stayed in a hotel room and was waiting for a call to meet hedi and be dressed, and the call never came because they ran out of time and so i basically just stayed in my hotel room eating pizza hut and got tickets to the show

well the only paid jobs i've done is YSL and they pay for travel and hotel, and usually they drive me to and from anything related to work, a fucking lot of stuff is free, like portfolio building stuff, and although i only stay in london, the tube is expensive and it kinda annoys me, i turn down the shit stuff i can't be bothered to do and they've caught on that i'm really selective, so they lie to me about what the shoot is for, so they'll tell me i'm doing a big magazine shoot, but the address is like some 20 year old fashion student's house hahaha

yeah the travelling for free is great, i was in paris for 3 weeks during the men's show, LA would haave been amazing

most of the stuff you do is free, for example all magazine shoots are unpaid, so think of all the front covers etc it's all unpaid unless maybe you're a huge model so you kinda fund all that yourself
