Karl Lagerfeld is the best person in fashion.

he's entertaining as hell, but I don't get how he is held in such a high regard as a designer. His stuff is tacky as fuck and just looks outdated. But I guess since only 60-something socialites buy Chanel anyway, it doesn't matter.

Winehouse did kinda end up putting out work far below her standard when her addiction progressed.

Same with many painters like for example Dali. Even writers.
People will remember the output that had a huge cultural influence even if output of inferior quality is created. Which actually is almost always the case if the being lives a long life.
