i would personally recommend ASOS's suede chelsea boots, only the round toe ones though... the pointed toe ones have a feminine shape all the way through.

Quality isn't the best but you get what you paid for. I've worn mine practically daily for the last 2 years (?) and they're still in fantastic shape.

suede is a lot more forgiving compared to leather when it comes to budget vs high quality. Cheap leather is obvious but suede is more difficult to distinguish because it doesn't wrinkle in the same way.

Get some ASOS chelseas, see if they suit you and fit your style, worst case you're down <£50, best case you upgrade to some decent chelseas

Just to clear up the broken nose thing, the reason they have that slanted bit on the front is because of a crease at the front from the lasting process. It's just an indicator of a method of manufacture and it goes away when there's actually a foot inside it. It's like complaining about how a jacket looks when you've only ever seen it laid out flat.
