How to taper a pair of pants without a sewing machine? Currently saving up for one, but im in dire need of one.

If it's jeans you are fucked. You will need a machine (this is because of the flat felled seams and they have to be perfect. If regular pants you can get away with the back stitch by hand. Taper first from the knee down if the amount to be tapered is large move above the knee. Bast first with large stitches along the taper line. Then if it looks right flow the line with the back stitch. Bast and back stitch the seams from the inside.
