I'm going to Europe early this fall, I'm going with a friend and only bringing one smallish backpack for myself. I have everything inventoried that I will bring and I left my self enough room to bring a second pair of shoes.

I am for sure bringing a pair of Red Wing postman's as my go to black leather shoe that I can also do a lot of walking in. That leaves me with a big choice on sneakers still. Currently I roll full meme status with a pair of navy American Stan Smiths and Nike ACG Trainerendors. The Stan Smiths are out because they're pretty common in Europe whereas in the US they are pretty unique. But now I'm second guessing the ACGs because I want a pair of white shoes to go with my light blue denim for some pale feels. Also it will pretty warm, I'm only bringing one sweater and a storable rain jacket. I'll be going to Germany later in the winter to visit family and bring my Acronym jacket with, so I figure I'll hold off on the ACGs until the second trip.

Suggestions? Make it white. I won't cop a pair of Cp's in time, I'm waiting until they go on sale in the months leading up to xmas and my first trip will be in August.

I'm sort of contemplating a customized order of nike blazers, but I would change the swoosh to white as I'm not a huge fan of highly visible branding. There is also an option to replace the inside swoosh with a zipper which I like.

Don't know where you are, but I'm pretty sure it's only in Paris/France that Stan Smiths have taken off and obtained pleb status. They're sold in all the major shops here in London but not many people are buying them. I'm sure some are buying them, but not that many from what I've seen. Some pleb girls are buying Superstars but even that's rare. Only ever seen other people with Stans in Central and DSM, which is obviously a pretty /fa/ store.

Nope, they are barely seen anywhere in the US. Only the allstars are carried in most malls, the stans are mainly available online. I don't want to be mistaken for a French guy, that would not be cool. I am planning on going to France, the Netherlands, Germany & Austria. I'm debating even bringing a second pair of shoes I'm so stumped, they do take up a lot of space. I was thinking about replacing them with a black denim vest. I think I could pull it off with what else I'm packing and idk what other tops to wear in the summer. Like i said, i have a sweater for the cool nights and a rain jacket for precip.

I'm thinking about scrapping bringing a pair of light washed jeans and replacing them instead with a pair of Nike joggers. Then in place of a white shoe I would do a tech-ish shoe, that's what I had in mind for the ACGs. I like this brand a lot though, considering.

Only the 420/574s in shitty colourways they carry at Schuh and Office. I've never seen any other model and always the same colourways on people here. You should be safe as long as you avoid the crap. I don't now much about Hummels but I don't like the look of them at all, just my opinion though

Thank, that's a fair point. I've got a black pair of New Balance so I might go for something with a little more colour for spring/summer. I've got kind of a comfy/layered up kind of thing on the go. I think they are fine shape wise, not so much color wise. Their hightops are fine even though I don't even like high tops. However I despise the color scheme, its not for me it looks too "juvenile".

If you could find their high tops in a simple color, like white, black or gray it would look really, really good.

Yeah, I've ordered a pair in a light grey, with the side dashes in white. I was asking more for durability and build quality. I had a pair of Adidas Sambas that fell apart after two months. They look pretty low key, which is what I wanted from them. Gonna look at some more colourful shoes from New Balance and Nike too.

Nope. It doesn't matter in the states because approximately 95% of the population is fashion illiterate mall tier plebs. It's not the main method we differentiate ourselves in our culture. In Europe the hallmarks of American success are more inaccessible, less people have cars, own large houses, boats, ect, as a result people tend to put more thought into what they wear because it's something they can control. I just don't want to be mistaken for a local when I'm abroad and since I don't dress like most American tourists, it's a reasonable concern. I don't think anyone who considers themselves fashionable wants to follow the herd, but that would never stop me from wearing a piece I really like.

They look nice at first, but they wear out really, really fast.
I bought a pair of boots there for the winter since I had to save up for Redwings yet, and they looked nice for something like, $120.
After three weeks some of the stitching started coming undone and the panels of the boots were coming loose from one another. This of course led to the boots letting snow and dirt leak into them which made them worthless.
You could get them fixed at a cobbler, of course, and they'd be a pretty good pair of boots then, but in the end you'd be paying more than for an actual good pair in the first place.
Wouldn't advice them for shoes ever again.

I like some of their knitwear, though.

I have a pair in size 8 UK, but I've absolutely rekt them, been sick on them etc and destroyed the shape from chucking them in the washing machine and generally just clubbing.
I'd love a new pair in all white, not in grey like you can get on ebay.
Wouldn't pay more than £50-60 though
