If I you could get a pair of DRKSHDW jeans or a pair of Julius jeans for the same price, which would you get? I have some dirty blue detroits, and I want a pair of black pants, and not sure if I want to get a pair of memphis (or even black detroits) or try a different designer. I don't know much about Julius, other than I only really like the bottoms.

They bill them as leggings even though they have a finished waistband. Just wear them as you would any of the other pants that are available in fleece/jersey. If anything, the slimmer fit on these would be even easier to wear than the more aggressive proportions on things like the Drawstring Long or Prisoner.
