People can have many reasons. It could be the retail markup because of the designer is too high, the resell price too high,it's simply unavailable for sale or people just want to save money and buy clothes they like.

>Isn't the quality shit?
The quality can vary depending on the price you pay but it's still vastly cheaper than the retail price regardless. Generally do not bother with fakes for high priced items below $50 unless it's a rep of some cheap item like a hat or beanie. The picture of the UNHS SP (Super perfect) Supreme box logo hoodie is about $80 while the retail price is $148 reselling at $200 to $300. For shoes, there are unauthorized (UA) that are for the same factory, same materials but stolen from factory or were made "unauthorized" often with slight defects. A lot of replicas are very good quality but of course will not be a perfect 1:1 unless it's a truly simple item.

i bought the OG b/w versions a while ago, i have been wearing them daily for almost 9 months and theyre holding up fine, quality isnt exactly as great as an OG pair but thats to be expected, the hemming on the tounge ripped once but it was en easy fix, the upper is pretty much identical to the original version, but the sole is made out of one piece of rubber and it isnt entirely white, the white rubs of after a while and the bottom of the sole starts to turn grey, also the black parts arent painted nicely but its an extremley easy fix with a sharpie, the thing that gives it away in my opinion is the yohji yamamoto written on the sole, its printed poorly and easily rubs off, it already rubbed off completley on the right shoe but the left one is still going strong, in my opinion the quasas are one of the few replicas that are actually worth getting, i actually own a good amont of actual designer shoes so i know the difference in quality and the fake quasas arent too horrible considering the price.

SHIT THAT YOU CANT GET AWAY WITH AND WILL PROBABLY GET "CALLED OUT" ON:

Geobaskets. They're horrible for a number of reasons. The leather is cheap, the laces are too short in terms of length, the zipper isn't the right color most of the time, the sole is made out of a horrible rubber-ish eraser like material and the overall shape is noticeably less bulky than authentics. Don't cop replica geos, you'll just make yourself look like an idiot.

Anything involving premium leathers. For example, SLP leather jackets. If you're into fashion you should know the difference between real and fake leather and why it's noticeable.

Anything with fur, such as an APC kanye parka.

It's kinda pointless to wear denim jean reps because when you buy denim it's typically for the quality and measurements. for example, buying replica APC denim makes no sense. However if you're looking for balmain jeans or something like that, you can go ahead and cop reps of those.

also they typically don't rep lots of high end stuff like rick owens or y-3 jackets. usually only a few pieces from a collection unless it's something really hyped.

all and all, reps are mainly for streetwear and lower quality items with huge mark ups.
