How do you justify the value?
I suppose I'm a huge pleb that is more about functionality but I have a single wool scarf that cost me 20 bucks and it's big enough to wrap around my neck twice and wide enough to protect me if I wrap it just once.
I could really only see dropping that much or more on a jacket or shoes.
But I mean I don't really even like any of the sweaters on this thread either this one: >>9336751 has dope texture and pattern but the slide color is offputting to me.

I'm genuinely curious because scarves in my opinion add very little to outfits to begin with and I just don't see what 450 dollar scarf can add that one under 100 bucks can't and I guess I mostly wear them purely for the function

Well you answered it yourself.
A scarf is a good scarf if it keeps you warm and is made out of a nice fabric that doesn't itch and irritate.
That means well knitted soft wools.
Other than that... paying 450 bucks for a scarf is completely unnecessary and borderline retarded.
There is no functional or quality or ground breaking design difference between a 150 and 500 dollar scarf.

There are a lot of reasons why a sweater will cost that much. Material quality (what kind of wool it might contain, does it have cashmere etc) the wages of the worker who makes it (is it some kid getting $1 a day at a desk or a worker making $18/hour or more) as well as some other factors like quality of construction, but then a lot of it is simply luxury markup.

Clothes are a game of diminishing returns. Some people are willing to pay $40 for a sweater thats 2x as nice as a $20 sweater, some people are willing to pay $500 for a sweater thats 10% nicer than a $400 sweater.

There is no practical reason to get married right now; at this point in life there's only drawbacks.
Where's the pressure coming from?
You can love that woman just as much without putting economical strain on yourself at a time where you don't even have a steady income or any form of substantial life savings.

"is she really the one doe?" is also a good question to pose yourself.
Me and my ex were together for 6 years before we drifted apart, which I later recognized as us simply becoming adults in different ways.
Trust me, guy: life isn't short. It's long. Don't legally tie yourself to someone when you're under 30yo. I didn't know shit when I was 25. Thought I did.

Is it really worth what would now just amount to a super romantic gesture the hassle and monetary price? Save that until you've been with a woman long enough, and loved her through that before you put a ring on her. Don't get married cause you love her SUPER MUCH.
Just something to think about.

This guy knows. I seriously just went through a breakup after a six year relationship out of college. She was a lot younger than me but it was great, seemed like it wouldn't ever end. The last year was hard because of work stress for me and her school and transitioning into work stress, but she just crushed me in the end. Sparing the details, people change. If you do get married get a strong prenup, because you never know who someone will be in the future. I'm 29 btw, feel like I don't know shit, and I had a coffee already.

Okay wow, thank you guys for actually giving me respectful relationship advice on 4chan, not something I expected. I do appreciate your concern haha and I know it's impossible to ever know if someone's right for you and wow, I just really wasn't expecting people to be this deep on a 4chan fashion forum. In my defense I'm still gonna be in college for years anyway so I've got plenty of time to think about it. Additionally both her parents and both her sisters got married when they were still in college and these are among the strongest marriages I've ever witnessed and I've also known people who dated for years and years and were even married for with children for years later who ended up getting divorced. So, I don't know, guess it's hard to tell if something's going to work out? I promise I'm not blowing you guys off, I'm just saying. And yeah I know, I'm basically a child right now and everything I do now is going to seem downright retarded even maybe a year from now. I don't think there's anything I can really do about that. But thanks for the advice, I'll keep it in mind.

My girlfriend comes from a really big family and all of her siblings that are married already have a ton of kids, like 6+ and I've just never met happier, closer families in my whole life and I love to be around them and play with her nieces and nephews and we've talked alot about it and we both just want to have a really big family to love and take care of and obviously it wouldn't be right after we're out of college but it's something we're planning for.

lol please shut the fuck up. Your parents chose to have you. Plus the white population is almost universally shrinking due to lack of children. Birth rates sitting somewhere between 1.7-2.0.

Also global warming is allowing access to fertile farmland thats been permafrosted for centuries. Only like 1% of the worlds population lives close to the equator and 90% lives in the northern hemisphere.

Cry me a river because your 5th grade uneducated teacher taught you bullshit.

it is dead, and their dead stock ends up at tj maxx and marshals. i've found current season in some shitty camp menswear flavored boutiques in nyc though. the quality is okay and it's made in mid tier manufacturing areas ie turkey portugal or the balkans like a lot of stuff in the price range. good deal at marshalls prices.

Plan on moving north and inland, graudually become more self-sufficient, start w/ wood-burning stove, move on to solar panels, growing alot of own food, buy some chickens, etc. What's your contingency plan for the next couple decades? Real talk, I'm intereseted since you brought this stuff up. And I imagine technological advances and declining birth rates and population growth limits will mitigate some of this, but I'm not an expert. So legit, what should I be doing to prepare?

I'm trying to assemble a lunarcore fit too, I think some of these would work but they aren't worth the money. Really anything grey/white/tan with some texture could work. No easy way to go about searching, but bouncing around visually similar items on google shopping can sometimes be helpful.

As far as contingency plans go, it sounds like you're on the right track. Self sufficiency is key. North and inland makes sense. In all likelihood, the regions surrounding the great lakes will become the wealthiest and most influential, being connected to such a huge body of fresh water. Several highly populated cities are already there, but the urbanization will continue to expand to the suburbs, as it has been. This could be a safe place to live, unless economic conditions continue to funnel wealth into the elite minority, in which case this area will be a clusterfuck of crime, poverty, and social unrest. This highly urban area will also make self-sufficiency harder.

There are resources online to help you study how different regions will be affected as this century progresses. I would recommend someplace rural, where you can pool your resources with a small like-minded community. You have to live simpler and leaner, but people are already doing it. The problem here is if you or your family ever needs to go to the hospital. There are no easy answers.

Even if the population levels out in the future, things are still going to be stretched very thin. Try to imagine you and your wife surviving in either the urban scenario or the rural scenario, then add another 5 or 6 people that you need to feed, clothe, and educate. It's not practical and it wouldn't be fair to the children, unless you have some serious cash. If you're rich then you don't really have to worry about any of this.

It's hard to find reasonably priced stuff lunar-looking stuff that isn't super basic. I might learn to sew just to make my own.

Yeah, the plan was to live in upstate NY where we already have family, so reasonably close to the great lakes region. My girlfriend intends to be a nurse so that'd definitely help. I'm not too worried about education, I've heard education prices are supposed to collapse sometime in the next couple decades as everything becomes increasingly digital, and growing my own food would hopefully help to reduce that cost but I don't know. Worst-case scenario we end up kind of emulating early 1900s farming families except with access to drastically better technology. We're not gonna just be popping out kids on a whim, I promise we're not that impulsive. What online resources do you recommend to better predict and prepare for upcoming geopolitical shifts? It's nice to talk to someone else who thinks about this kind of stuff.
