New Fragrance thread.

Anyone got opinions on Helmut Lang Cuiron 2014?

>> No.9332969

No. 4.4/5 @ Fragranctica though

http://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Helmut-Lang/Cuiron-pour-Homme-4195.html

>> No.9333632

I own :
Greg Lauren fragrance (smells different like more natural, good for day but not for the club)
Burberry Brit Rhythm (affordable rockstar scent , I suggest)
Blamage ( unforgettable scent, easy to wear, remains for long but if you judge from pricepoint you are going to be disappointed)
I owned Bottega Veneta and it smells like human skin it's weird.
Also has anyone tried Le Labo? I'm really intrigued to buy from them, what do you suggest? And is the BLK DNM scent good?

le labo has the best scents that i have ever smelled in my entire life

rose 31, neroli 36, and vetiver 46 are my favorites

Why is it that the more expensive branded colognes smell more feminine? Maybe I have not had enough experience? I usually wear Fahrenheit, but I ordered samples of CDG Patchouli LUXE, and all of the Parfum MDCI's male colognes. They all smelt feminine, very much like older women, if I focused hard enough I could definitely appreciate the complexity of the smell, but other people always took it as
>this guy must wear his grandma's perfume

>> No.9334001

>>9333967
Isn't the problem here that you're using expensive EdC? Aren't they most likely to be hyped up sub-par stuff?

Isn't EdP the way to go for you? The complexity would be more noticable at a high concentration

zagorsk doesn't smell like cedar at all to me
it's really light yet heavy and it stings at first to the nose when it's freshly sprayed
at most it smells like incense with a tiny note of hinoki and pine in the background (i was originally attracted to the possibility of smelling like hinoki when i blindly bought this off the internet)

it fades beautifully though and its perfect if you want to smell like someone who has power i guess

It is a great scent though, I agree with spring scent, it is amazing with some heat. Some people are raving about leather notes, maybe my batch is just different because I smell like sexy waddahmellun. Batch no. 40271

Variety, personal taste, varying things on schedule.

Say a guy goes to the gym, so he wears allure homme sport. After that he takes a shower and gets ready for dinner, YSL la nuit. Next day is work, so he puts on bleu de chanel. Things like this and all of a sudden you´re already rotating fragrances.

Olfactory fatigue? After 30 mins they won't be able to smell whatever the fuck they're wearing unless they stick their nose into their damn chest. So no, I don't believe that's ever the only reason.

ive worn fragrances that i can still smell 8, 12 hours on if it has the longevity. read any reviews of any fragrances and they talk about longevity. that is, how long the scent lasts. its a basic quality of the scent people can track like projection.

olfactory fatigue is when you are exposed to many different fragrances, and eventually you have a difficult time distinguishing between scents. sure, it may also refer to a powerful scent, but unless you splash it on your neck napoleon style its not going to be that powerful.

>Haha you're funny

uhh, no? arnold schwarzenegger, the poster-boy of bodybuilding speaks at length about 'the pump,' which is for him and many others a great pleasure in lifting weights.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84cVizR6sPQ

Olfactory fatigue can also refer to becoming habituated to a certain smell you dumb fuck. That's why people who smell horrible sometimes don't even realize it. They're used to the smell. Light a candle in your room and you'll smell it for a bit. Then leave the room, come back, and it'll be way stronger. That's olfactory fatigue.

>> No.9344731

>>9344320
Your definition of olfactory fatigue makes me think you're a genuine retard.
>Olfactory fatigue, also known as odor fatigue or olfactory adaptation, is the temporary, normal inability to distinguish a particular odor after a prolonged exposure to that airborne compound.[1] For example, when entering a restaurant initially the odor of food is often perceived as being very strong, but after time the awareness of the odor normally fades to the point where the smell is not perceptible or is much weaker. After leaving the area of high odor, the sensitivity is restored with time. Perfume counters will often have containers of coffee beans which tend to "reset" olfaction. Anosmia is the permanent loss of the sense of smell, and is different from olfactory fatigue.

>Olfactory fatigue is an example of neural adaptation or sensory adaptation. The body becomes desensitized to stimuli to prevent the overloading of the nervous system, thus allowing it to respond to new stimuli that are ‘out of the ordinary’.

Got some samples today.
For anyone wondering, the Creeds are: Green Irish Tweed, Millésime Impérial, and Silver Mountain Water.
Right now I'm testing out Azzaro pour homme and Azzaro chrome.

Not a fan of chrome.
Pour homme is okay. Very herbal-y. It certainly smells like a scent from the 70's.

if you're wearing any scent whatsoever to the point where high temperature results in CHOKING OUT EVERYONE IN THE VICINITY, you're way beyond wearing too much. you emptied the bottle on yourself.

like I said before: stop this. at best, maybe, there's something to be said for scents that remind you of summer locations (the beach, or whatever) vs winter locations (alpine forests maybe). but even that is getting kind of fedoric if taken to extremes.
