What are the tolerances like in terms of measurements changing in a tailored suit?

I'm on a weightlifting program and my shape is changing continuously with weight gain/loss and muscle development.

If I buy a suit that's made to measure, is it possible to have it continually adjusted, or do I just have to throw it out?

husbando material. of course he dresses like a pleb off set.

u cud probably tell yr tailor to leave some extra material (an inch or so) in certain places like the chest, thighs, waist, arms, but if yr shoulder measurments are changing a lot then u might be fucked

what do u need suits for? u might be better off buying off the rack/thrifted and getting those tailored until u are at a point that yr body shape is consistent

Unless you're made of money I wouldn't get anything tailored until you reach your goal body.

well it doesn't have to be tailored, but that's just the most extreme case. generally speaking, is there much room for adjustment?

I've never gotten much done to my suits because i'm skinny and don't lift (cuz nerd)
u should talk to a real tailor since we don't know much about yr size / goals / progression

unless u wanna tell us more

sure, i don't have any hard and fast plans. i've been bulking for about 10 months, have gained 20 kg (a lot) in going from severely underweight to slightly overweight.

the only suit i have currently is a cheap black one (think it's a tux - single button, silk lapels) from marks and spencer which i haven't tried on in ages. don't really feel it's appropriate for wearing at anything than balls. would like something a bit wound back that i could feel comfortable wearing day to day.

No reason to get something tailored until you reach your goal weight. Go in, get something that fits decent. Get your trousers hemmed. That's it.

You can't easily reverse tailoring without damaging the fabric. Plus you're probably gonna shell out around 300-500 dollars for your first suit. So no point in burning money.

Tailoring is only when you are steady weight. Bulking is kind of dumb anyhow. No real science behind it besides broscience. Just find out how many calories you burn and eat that much. Plus, its such a bitch to burn fat without drugs its almost not worth it.

it's the easiest way to ensure maximal muscle development

>Plus, its such a bitch to burn fat without drugs its almost not worth it.
I find losing weight pretty easy, it's subjective. To gain as much as I have, I've had to eat twice as much as I usually do and do almost no cardio.
