how is a 22 year old supposed to dress? I have been told I am too young for what I like and a "try hard". So what is a man supposed to do?

>> No.9282979

Jeans, vans, solid color tshirt, a cup of coffee and a really stressed facial expression

Whatever you're comfortable in and looks effortless. You're probably a try hard because I imagine you're dressing prep and putting so much effort in that it looks like a costume.

is that effay? sounds like a form of college-core

It's not effay but it's what looks good for most 18-23 yr olds

I really like the prep look, slacks, button down, sweatervest, and really nice shoes (churchs, allen edmonds etc..) But since I cant afford that I go for a variation of dad-core

it actually doesn't. lmao. just because everyone dresses like that doesn't mean it looks good. it's boring. it states you have no personality.

it all depends on the occasion, you can dress however you feel comfortable and you're not "supposed" to dress any certain way but for particular occasions people see it's more appropriate not to "overdress" which is what your friends (i'm assuming) are telling you, chances are you're just dealing with someone who thinks differently in terms of style.

you're old enough to think for yourself, dress for yourself and only yourself buddy.

sucks to be told that people feel like shit when they hang out with you because you look to good....

>be me hanging with a friends GF because we were running errands
>she says "anon I feel like shit when we hang out"
>LUL wut
>You dress too well it makes me feel like shit
>MFW I wear cheap coped fits from khols and old navy because until this year started I have been a poor cunt.

>you dress too well it makes me feel like shit

"they're just clothes, it's not a competition. the way i dress has absolutely nothing to do with you. i do not get up in the morning and say, wow i'd better outdress my friend's GF. i just get up and put clothes on. if you feel that the way you dress is inadequate, then perhaps you should learn how to dress in a way that feels adequate to you instead of attempting to make me feel bad for just being who i am."
