General thoughts on round toe vs almond toe?
I have typically preferred almond toe up until now.

But it's hard to explain, some almond toe boots look like shit (usually desert boots with big protruding soles).

palladium is a pretty good brand, actually. poet highly recommended them, and so do many other people who own them.

usually the people who hate on them just don't like the look and have never owned a pair.

i've handled a lot of palladium and they've always been fine quality for the price, but if you can get a discount they are a great ratio of price to quality.

Modern docs are synthetic shit that will fall apart with serious wear. They still make leather docs under the brand doc martens forever, but they're way overpriced.

I've been wearing a pair of Corcorans I got an a milsurp sale and the uppers still look great after 3 years of heavy wear.

To a certain extent. As a rule, quality comes at a higher price.

A good example would be the difference a pair of Made in England Dr. Marten's boots and a regular pair of Dr. Marten's boots. They look identical, so why the price difference? The former are made by hand in England (which in itself drives the price up due to minimum wages and taxes) with better leather - you pay for both aspects. They will age much better and will last longer, due to better materials and workmanship.

The law of diminishing returns applies of course. A difference in quality probably isn't what sets a part a pair of boots that cost $ 1000 and a pair that cost $ 500. But if you're willing to pay extra - that'll be more than £ 60 for a pair of boots - you'll get a lot in return.

As I've stated in a previous post, if somebody could direct me to some companies that make good quality boots, id be grateful.

The only two sites i know of are Red Wing Iron Rangers, which seem to chunky for me, and Loakes, which i dislike due to all the small holes the boots have.

Then there is the simple design (again common with service boots) that make them very versatile and easy to wear.
Dig the color and material as well simply because I own just plain fullgrain leather boots that are "shiny" and have different aesthetic altogether.

Cop, they are really nice. I had been with mines since last month and they had been really comfortable, but i would recommend to wear them with some nice socks since they are hard. Put them near a fire while you wear them, so you can break them in faster.

Some of them look pretty good.

I own a pair, and they are DEFINITELY not worth the retail price Palladium sells them for. Really cheaply made. Got a pair of sport cuff wp2s from Amazon for 110 dollars, and even that was too much for the product I received.

They sure look p dope, but I heard quality is mid. I have seen some fits here, and the guy did not say anything bad about them. Cop, if money is not something you worry about, but if you care a lot about how the quality is compared to price then this is not for you.

I would cop if it was me, just take care of them and they will last.

I've got Freds with the V sole.
My first impression on arrival was they're bulky but they really grew on me. I really love them now. The sole makes them really comfy to walk in and they're lighter than standard soles (I also have a pair with leather soles - which I don't like so much)
They run wide so you might want to size down 1/2 or a full size.
