I don't get sad a lot anymore but I definitely feel a lot more empty recently

Sometimes I lie in bed in the morning and wonder what to do each day even if I have plans. They just don't sound fun

I wouldn't be here if i wasn't. I feel like i'd be happier if i found a cute/nice gf, but that only seems to happen when i stop caring about it.

I'm on Paxil. I don't really know.

Though, shit's making me lose my hair and I feel anesthetized to most things in general. Considering switching to Prozac.

Anyone here had any experience with either the former or the latter?

I don't want to take pills to feel normal for the rest of my life, christ. I practice CBT every damn day and that only does so much.

Paxil (Paraxotine) and Prozac (Fluxotine) are both SSRI's, you can expect pretty much similar effects from both drugs, although fluxotine has been shown to be efficacious in the treatment of youth depression, I'm guessing because /fa/ you're under 24 so it might prove efficacious for you.

Try escitalopram (lexapro), fewer side effects than most SSRI's

Have tried that in the past, it gave me odd neck spasms. Thank you, though.

Do you really feel not-sad on antidepressants? When I took mine I still felt like lower than average (3 out of 5 on a scale of 0-10 where 5 is average) but not as low as I would without them (0-1/10). It helped because I have intense, difficult-to-control emotions and helped to keep me in one mood. I didn't feel angry very often on antidepressants. For me side effects were more annoying than anything. I'm glad I don't take them anymore but sometimes I feel like I don't have the skills to deal with situations and that makes me feel really afraid.

I think antidepressants are supposed to take the high highs and low dips of the moods off. Kind of average the whole thing out. So I think they worked well on you.

I've been on anti psychotics for a year once, and those things, while they stripped me of all creative thoughts would make me tear up at the simplest things. I'm glad I don't take them anymore.
