Does anyone here do the #menswear/pitti uomo thing? I realize that dressing this way can be hard on a budget, but I know there are guys here who can afford it.

I indulge in it a little. I don't go overboard- I think the dress-shoes-with-no-socks, the silk scarves, the floppy hats, I think that's all kind of ridiculous. But I do love tailored clothing, and I do love to go sort of nuts with pattern and color. I don't really find jackets, suits, and ties uncomfortable either, particularly once you break the Don Draper/office drone mold.

what would full wardrobe of this fashion cost?

Depending on the designers, and amount of clothing it can be anywhere between 20.000 and 1.000.000+

It depends on where you shop. If you go full balls-out Italian from the boutiques and designer stores, you could spend thousands of dollars.

I think one of the best bets for a young guy trying to dress like this is a really new line from Isaia called Eidos Napoli. It's made in Isaia's factory, but it uses slightly lower quality fabrics so the prices are lower. Bloomingdale's carries a lot of their line, as do a few specialty shops like Carson Street Clothiers.

Pic related, this was their Spring/Summer collection this past year.

Couple racks to do it justice, unless you have some kickass second hand stores in your hood.

Also, eBay. eBay is super, super fucking helpful for dressing like this because you can get all sorts of top-end shit for hundreds or even thousands of dollars less than you would normally pay.

not speaking of topend or designer stuff but prices for proper stuff ruffly start at arround
>suit 400€
>coat 400€
>shirt 60-100€
>pants 100€
>shoes 200-300€
>knitwear 100€
>belt 30-60€
etc

a pretty basic outfit of a shirt, sweater, chino, belt and shoes, without underwear and accessoires can easily cost you around 500€.
Now you probably want to have different shirts, different sweaters, different pants, differents shoes and of course different belts. A few ties, one or more jackets or coats, gloves, watches, scarfes, maybe one or more suits, etc etc.

You better not dress #menswear, preppy or such if you dont earn a lot of money or have the possibilities of getting it for cheaper, without it looking like used crap. Wearing 500-1000 bucks outfits in an enviroment where it doesnt fit in like at mcdonals, the ghetto, school or such would also be unappropriated af.

Of course there are some cheaper brands having #menswear stuff but meh. Labels everywhere, only low quality cotton or other blend fabrics with even synthetic crap, bad fits or sewing quality... Exceptions may exist.

How high-end do you have to go to be considered #menswear amongst posters on a Cambodian child bride forum?

Honestly, it's more the LOOK of something than the branding. There's lots of brands that don't break the bank that pull off the #menswear aesthetic.

You can buy white jeans, a #menswear essential, at J. Crew for $115, which is a perfectly reasonable price.

Hehe, no. You are however right that there are a lot of menswear brands that don't break the bank. If you want decent quality at fairly cheap prices the U.K. is the place to look at. Well the U.K. is the place to look at if you want quality as well, but there are so many U.K. based budget brands that don't actually completely suck.

I did work for it though. You don't need to be rich to buy expensive clothes, you just need to like clothes enough to prioritize it.

>goes to expensive univesity

so, you went to an expensive univesity but spend all your earned money on clothes while it was normal for the others to have expensive clothes by default (I doubt ALL prioritized clothes that much). Who paied for the university? Also, you earned enaugh money WHILE being in university to wear 1000-1500€ outfits, finished university and now still posting on 4chan?

either you are lying or your parents stick the money up your ass.

I think you guys are mistaken. The people in the OP picture are pretty obviously wearing some expensive stuff, you won't find clothes with that kind of "expensive looking" texture from J. Crew.

I used to think like that when I was into #menswear like 4 years ago, and I ended up with a bunch of J. Crew, banana republic, gant stuff that didn't come anywhere near what real #menswear enthusiasts are wearing. It just isn't the same, you'll be dressing up without having all of the texture and attention to detail that you see in #menswear stuff.

Negative. That's way off, and I'm living proof of it.

Assuming you have cash for a decent tailor, are cognizant of your proportions and have discerning taste (aka wearing suit / jacket combo and NOT pairing it meme shoes or sperrys), you could build a wardrobe of several oxfords, trousers, suit jackets and lace ups for under 2 grand.

If you thrift like I do, you can literally ball out with income tax and have dosh left for new kicks. Pic related - I built this look for $57 total.

It helps to learn a bit about altering garments yourself, but it's ultimately dependent on how deeply you want to cultivate a great look
