I don't work retail, but from some experiences, they tend to be elitist assholes. Also, this is more /o/ related, but they tend to circle jerk at car shows and be really unwelcoming towards younger enthusiasts with newer vehicles, so I naturally assume that it's sort of the same situation in retail. This obviously does not apply to all of them, but for a stereotype to exist, there has to be a significant amount of people of a group that act in accordance for it to exist.
