I think fashion has a part to do with a sense of identity and having different ideas.

Most new sedans looks generally the same. Same goes for SUVs and vans. They all try top push the same features, MPGMPGMPG, and price.

I feel like "classic" cars were so much more unique. Companies were trying different things to set themselves apart. And this still reflects on todays cars, but they slowly been changing into a mold of every other car.

I mean look at the WRX/STI a 15 years ago compared to now.

I would have agreed if this statement was made in the 2000's, but since 2010, the designs of modern cars have really picked up and look great. A lot of classic cars just don't hold up. (I'm talking design only of course, in terms of drivability, reliability, performance, and functionality new cars blow older ones out of the water.)
