If you can't afford your girlfriend decent jewellery - you're probably not a real man.

Tiffany's is the further possible thing from "decent" jewelry I can imagine for anybody of remotely modern taste. Expensive and respectable, but nothing interesting with just lots of stones crammed in to look impressive.

Tiffany, even though all the chavs bying it, still one of the most pleasurable little (expensive) things you can buy in this world.

Right, good. Classic and suitable for lots of people. Nothing particularly modern or interesting or innovative, but yes. Good.

You go to Tiffany's because you have straightforward taste, but if you're interested in design, there are much better jewelers out there. I'm not saying they make bad things or design bad things, but practically any brand couple make what they make, they just can't hallmark it with Tiffany's and put it in a blue box, which isn't really worth the price to my mind. That said, I'm a design-oriented jewelry shopper, not a brand-oriented one.

My point being that Tiffany's is fine if you don't want anything unique or special. They don't do unique or special outside of getting you a giant ass stone that no one else can have. Design-wise, it's the same water they've been treading for decades. There's nothing wrong with that, just nothing exciting either.

fuck that mentality

pic related, here's the story:
Christmas circa early/mid 90s. 2 American graduate students studying in Israel. At the time they didn't have any money to get married. They were really poor, but that didn't really matter. They didn't need rings or signed pieces of paper to validate and prove their love. They weren't even able to afford a large christmas tree or proper presents but they did their best with what little they had. Sure they were dirt poor but they had something more, they had each other. together, they would make it through the rough times. Even if their situation didn't improve much, it wouldn't have mattered to them because they were/are so in love that it made everything okay

>> No.9054537

I bought my ex girlfriend a Pandora charm bracelet and would get new charms relating to our relationship on special occasions. After we broke up her next boyfriend continued to buy charms for it (saw this from facebook photos). I thought it was weird as fuck she would continue wearing something that sort of represented our past love
