i had that experience today

i know most of u are stupid and can barely comprehend what im writing, but for the 5% that arent i had a very cringe inducing encounter today.

yknow when u read reddit mfa comments that give u those cringe feels, yknow when u read a youtube comment that someone has typed in earnest and you're confounded as to how this person can exist on this planet and inhabit the same reality as you because they're so inconceivably stupid? yeah i was subjected to that today.

i found myself feeling a potent mixture of embarrassment and bemusement, disgust and utter disbelief. how can 'people' be so fucking stupid? i mean this goes beyond the genuine stupidity of 90% of u, the witless, earnest obliviousness, this was something else.

this was people 'trying' to be something, this was people who've reach some base level of self-awareness but havent the natural requirement to employ it in a way that isnt embarrassing.

in short i feel intellectually violated, i feel as if i saw something no man in my position should see; something foreign, alien in nature, grotesque and malformed, turgid and repugnant.

there are people out there who unironically enjoy nolan films, people who think tim and eric is 'clever' i got firsthand glimpse into the lives of this brand of villain, and it was

i was added, against my will to a skype group, the content and participants of which were as stupid and cringe inducing as anything typed on srs.

i believe it to be the self titled 'onani'(vomit) skype group.

where i was witness to such grotesque exchanges as this.

You know pf as a huge Tim and Eric fan I agree with you. I think they do need to reign in themselves a bit. I wouldn't simply write them off as awful though. I mean Brule and some of their one offs along with Tom goes to the mayor are all amazing. Tim has also shown he can work well in a dramatic setting. listen to their interviews with Marc Marron, it gives you a much better feel of what is at the core of their humor. Along with watching this one documentary on public access in LA, I forget the name but it's on YouTube.

I can see why their more wacky stuff can be polarizing. My favorite bits are when they heavily parody public access, weird stage variety shows (see crImbus special), and shitty local advertisements. T&E is defiantly not for everyone though, some people just don't like them and that's fine. I'm actually very happy that the reasons you have where a lot more well though out than the usual critisisms of "it's Radom garbage with no thought".
