ITT: post ways of going in to high end stores to try stuff on and then leaving and buying it on far fetch/second hand because you're a mega fuccbitch.

so far I use shit like

-I'll think about it and come back later

-I'm really after a different colourway

and shit like that. It's getting difficult though.

act like a rich person when you are in the store. i'm not rich personally but my family is so i can fake it pretty easily. rich people care about the price of clothes too. you will only look like a fool if you pretend not to look at the price tag.

just be confident. it doesn't matter if you try on a bunch of stuff and don't buy any of it because YOU are the customer and the people who work there are there to serve YOU. besides, people who work in retail, high end or not, should not be intimidating to you and you should not care what they think

I was literally at maxfeilds just last night and Ill have to admit that I was a little nervous to go after hearing so much about it. but I went in anyways and it wasn't as intimidating as I thought it would be. some old ass japanese lady was following me around and at first it was a little awkward but all I had to do is smile a lot and stroke their ego about the store. it also helps a lot to have some knowledge about the designers that the carry. the old japanese lady who was acting cold and distant to me at first softened up and started having conversations with me about designers and even smiling back and telling me to come back. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but if your in la and want avant garde fashion go to h lorenzo that place is fucking awesome and the people who work there are incredibly friendly

I would've assumed something along the lines of people only getting hired for working in stores like Rick's because they look good in the clothes. A majority of the people who will buy stuff from the store will know a good amount about what they are buying before they even get into the store. So it would be somewhat pointless to have some ugly motherfucker like twerk in there spewing knowledge on Rick while wearing a fucking dress. They do probably have someone in there that knows a good amount just in case the new money asain babby wants to up his style game.

I thought I would feel the same thing but the store had such an intimate feeling and the the girl working there was the only other person there for a while. When I left I quietly walked out a waved mouthing thank you she did the same. It seems they are just happy for people to be there an actually interested in the clothes and materials and not just hypebeasts or new money asains cumming over shut they can't pull off. That being said I was really tempted to grab the geos and Rick combat boots and book it put of there. In my size and literally no security on any of the pieces.
