I live in Canada now (Montréal to be precise), and I need a good looking winter jacket, that is warm enough to not die in the fucking cold.

Alpha Industries look awesome and all but there is no shops of this brand in Canada and I would not risk to buy it online without knowing anything about the fit. Also I'm not sure it is that warm. Fuck being /fa/ if you are cold as shit.

Canada Goose is awesome quality, but it's expensive as fuck and not that /fa/. But I guess classic is timeless.

The North Face is less expensive and it's good quality too, but everyone has a god damn North Face here, so I guess it's pleb as hell.

I tried Fjällräven, it looks good but I'm a manlet and Fjällräven fits really large.

I guess I'd go for a Canada Goose Chilliwack bomber but maybe there is some awesome brands I don't know about.

Pic: Woods parka. Did not try it yet, looks solid.

tl;dr What do you cop to be /fa/ and warm?

As far as fashion outerwear goes, CG is pretty great because you aren't paying for the ridiculous brand markup you get with something like a Moncler and you still get crazy premium materials/quality.

Given your weather, you really ought to stick to real down and get something that will last you for years to come. I guess you could explore some other alternatives like Mackage, Krane, and some of the techy brands that use down alternatives. I still think that if you like the CG and you don't mind shelling out for it, it'll be very useful to you over time.

If Fjällräven sits large on you, AI will sure as fuck be too big as well
Something people don't ever seem to consider are snowboard brands, they make jackets for extreme conditions (kek) and they are basically techwear as well most of the time.
Lot of variation too, you can find very 'street' jackets, techy jackets and even jackets inspired heavily by field jackets but that are warm as hell and have the tech to keep you dry and whatnot.
They tend to be kinda heavy on the branding though which is a minus.

Canadian here,
recently hit up the Queen Street HBC and was just looking at stuff, they have a Patrik Ervell grey raglan coat (pic related) that i really really like but, it's 875$ which all in all isn't that bad but it's a bit steep for me right now.
I talked to the sales rep and they only have two in my size.
So basically i'm asking,
should i just go cop the coat as soon as i have the money ( couple weeks at the most) or should i hold off, wait for a price reduction and pray someone else isn;t doing the same thing, ORRRR should i try to find a similar one for cheaper, maybe around the 300-500$ range

Montreal here. Sup?

Don't wear CG, you will look like a banker / international student. Buy a practical, insulated arcterix, Fjallraven, or other technical jacket from Altitude (on st. denis). Pajar is also notable because their jackets are made in the city. Also MEC is generally awesome in terms of affordability and practicality.

It being a windproof shell is more important than it being heavily insulated; buy a nice fleece to go underneath if you feel it isn't warm enough.

Give as few fucks as possible about how the jacket looks. Also buy some nice warm boots.

The down fill power is higher than the Canada Goose, so it should give you a good idea of how warm it is (assuming the amount of down is the same). It can definitely handle a Canadian winter. The fit is boxy though, as with most of LL Bean's clothing.

I've had mine for two years now. It's good for PA winters and I've taken it boarding up in New England a few times. I get a lot of compliments on it from black girls, and it has more pockets than you could ever use.
