My raws are starting to smell like mild wet dog but I don't want to wash them yet. They're only 5 months old but getting their fades around the knees and ankles which is good.

Hang them out to dry

put them in the freezer, the cold should kill the bacteria and hopefully the smell

>have siqq fades on shit jeans I skate in
>barley have any fades on my real raws
>real raws are too stiff to skate in

1. Hang them out and let them sit there for 24 hours
2. Put them in a ziplock and in the freezer for overnight
Should get rid of any unwanted smells, if they are mad dirty, hanging them out for even more probably helps.
If they still smell, you gotta wash em

What's the recommended way to wash them?

This this this. I thought this was like a beginner raw denim lesson. Freeze then air out.

Then why do they cease to smell when they get put in the freezer, Sherlock?

>> No.8933619

>smell
Febreze and hang them out.

Jesus.

They cease to smell only while they're cold. As soon as they warm up, they stink again.

>> No.8933646

Wash them.

>>8931291
This doesn't work

>>8931382
All raw denim lessons should rightfully begin with the phrase, "wash them."

>>8931394
The only way to wash your pants is to wash them they way you want to.

>>8933616
Smells are caused by waste products produced by bacteria. Freezing the jeans slows down the bacteria, but does not kill them. As soon as they resume normal function, they will continue eating and producing waste products.

Brass tacks: wash your fucking jeans.

>>8933616
fucking google it, they don't get killed, the bacteria just go into a kind of hibernation, will be back and smelly after defrosted

>> No.8933797

Put them in the dryer with a couple dryer sheets. If it's not wet it won't shrink.
