Nicest? I think the nicest I've ever handled has still been any iteration in a washed/blistered leather. The smooth leather with down fill is definitely very luxe and immediately FEELS expensive, but it's also incredibly warm and not for everybody.

Technically, leather can handle some precipitation, but if it's your main jacket during inclement weather, you won't have time to let the hide dry fully between wears. There are hooded and stow-away hood versions of the Turbo Flight Bomber, too, but then you start to deviate a bit from the standard MA-1 silhouette.

My personal suggestion is to grab one of the textile options in DRKSHDW and to just put some water repellant spray on it. The Murray fabric is a cotton-nylon (almost like a 60/40) and the hardiest of the fabrics and probably the most practical option for you. The most comfortable is probably the heavy cottons in fall like this season's Madison, which is a brushed moleskine, but that heavy nap will drink up any water that lands on its surface.
