hey,

so I'm 20 and I kinda look like the girl in the upper left corner. My hair looks like this. I think I have a pretty face and it suits me well, so please no discussion about short hair on girls.

I'm not super skinny, average body. I'm not too short, about 5 foot 6.

So in the picture you see the stuff I like to wear. I love dresses and skirts. Especially hight waisted skirts with a shirt tucked in. Or shorts with tights underneath. I mostly wear darker colors.

I really like this style but recently someone told me that it doesn't really suit me because of my hair. They said it's stuff girls with pretty long hair would wear. That they like my hair but it doesn't look good combined with my clothes.

What do you think? I think dresses and skirts are good for girls with short hair, because it looks feminine in contrast to the hair. Is my style really not suiting me?

What should a short haired girl wear in your opinion?

>> No.8848352

I like it.

If a girl told you you should not wear those things she was probably mirin (also they probably think short hair girls should look like tomboys).

If you like your style keep it.

>> No.8848369

It was actually a guy who said it. He says he's into short haired girls and that he likes the clothes I wear but not combined.

>> No.8848371

girls that wear skirts and dresses are god tier

Would you mind posting a picture of your toes, OP?

So how is that relevant?

My girlfriend has relatively short hair and tends to dress more unisex than this, but definitely still maintains some hints of 'girliness.' Usually something closest to the bottom left in the photo you posted. Very form-fitted.

You should post a photo, otherwise it will be difficult to come up with a good consensus. Description only works to a point. I'm not saying this because you're a girl, it's just hard to come up with something to say if we really don't know what you look like wearing the clothes that you do.

It is, you just fail to see the whole picture. Trust me.

Imo this "cute-girl" style is a bit outplayed, put in some more colour

>> No.8848590

More colour but earth tones only. Whites shold never wear bright clothes. Not even ironically.

I don't like very wide necks on girls with hair shorter than their ears. If they don't have an outer layer over the top, then the proportions just seem off. Otherwise, go for it.

>> No.8848971

A girl with short hair or any type of hair should wear what they want, as long as it fits and "looks nice" which is totally subjective(to a degree). what that guy is prob trying to do is mold you into what ~he~ wants and that's p lame.

tbh i'm the same age and wear a lot of dresses and skirts too(b/c height is terrible), but i tend to play with patterns and colors more. i think you look fine bb but personally i'd say play around with colors, etc.

also kinda important what type of shoes do you wear?

>I'm not super skinny, average body

what does this even mean? Are you above or below 120lbs?

I'll put it this way; if you're above 120lbs, you're fat, and if you have short hair on top of that, you look even fatter when wearing high waisted dresses and skirts.

If you're skinny, and you wear high-heels, you'll look good in anything; hairstyle has nothing to do with it. Other than that, I'm not an expert on fat people 'fashion'.

Only suggestion I have is that, at 5'6", it can be tricky to look slim. I'd say be extra harsh on your fits in that respect, i.e. have a high standard for what looks slimming.

Nah jk, but the main issue with short girls is they can look portly very quickly. I know a girl who's maybe 5'4", but she's very thin, and finds clothing that fits her form very well.

Short girls just don't have the luxury of weight fluctuations and billowy clothing that tall girls do I suppose. Unfortunately, I think tall girls have a much easier time keeping their weight in check as well.

L-London...

jokes aside
don't change anything, wear what you think looks good
if you have your own style, a grasp on colours and shapes and make conscious decisions about how you dress yourself, you are already fashionable, no matter what anyone tells you
being fashionable is not synonymous with looking good for most people

kek it's okay,

yeah true, i'm pretty alright weight-wise(100lbs), other than some toning. long dresses are out of the question though right? i always try to keep skirts, etc above the knee.

my ex was a blonde short haired girl with a similar style and it looked dope .. i think you shouldn´t torture yourself about it .. if you feel good in your clothes, it should be ok

>> No.8850254

my gf and I both wear this style, i'm tall, thin, with 'pixie' type hair as well, and she has waist length hair. we always get complimented on our fits, at least twice a day, but most importantly its whats comfortable and cute. listen, you're totally gorgeous! dont worry about what some shitty guy thinks. if you wanna wear a paper sack or a garbage bag go for it and fuck the haters.
