do you guys wear a watch everyday?

i wore a watch everyday for about three years, but there were definitely times where it got in the way of the rest of my clothing. for example, one of my jackets had sleeves that were too long for my watch to fit on the outside of the cuff, so my watch ended up sitting on the inside of the cuff instead and pulling my left sleeve about an inch farther down than my right sleeve, which was noticeable at the shoulder. also, a lot of my button-down shirt cuffs would stack slightly at my watch, which really didn't look very good.

i stopped wearing my watch when wearing certain long-sleeve pieces/jackets about a month ago and things have been so much better fit and comfort-wise. only problem is i miss wearing a watch and still check my wrist for the time only to find nothing there :|

Yes. Every day for the past 4 years.

I don't see the problem with having your watch under a shirt cuff. I think it looks good when you can see a little bit of watch poking out underneath. Pic related (although hideous shirt).

Definitely beats bunching it up.

I thought I'd add that F.P. Journe incorporates this into some of his designs. See pic related. It's so that if the watch is under the cuff of a dress shirt (where it belongs), then without having to move around too much you can poke the watch out and still read the vitals. So time is on the right, and other less important details are on the left.

Pretty cool thinking I recon.

Standard style strap, nato strap, or bracelet. Which do you prefer?

>> No.8833191

Depends on the watch.

In general:

Dress - always leather, no exceptions
Sport - bracelet or thick leather
Diver - bracelet, nato, distressed leather
Vintage - leather, sometimes subdued nato

There will always be an exception.

I have but it's not at the top of my list.

I got an email about my Huldra. Turns out Chip sent an email earlier this month but it went to my spam folder. The idea is that those who are having bezel issues will send the entire watch back and get a fresh replacement from the factory. I imagine I won't have to pay for the replacement, but I might have to help out with shipping. Good news IMO because it's such a beauty.

Fantastic to hear. That Huldra is quite a beauty, such a shame that you were dealing with issues. Glad to hear that's what is gonna happen. Had the same thing happen with a quartz watch I received from backing a KS project. Hands weren't aligned properly causing the seconds hand to contact the minute hand and stop the watch, the crystal wasn't level and I had a little nick on the case. Sent it back asking for a complete replacement and that's what they did, no questions asked.

Definitely keep the new Helgray near the top. Nadim aught to be starting his KS campaign within the next month hopefully. A vintage inspired chronograph with a slightly domed sapphire crystal, 40mm x 47mm case with 20mm lugs, mecaquartz movement and 4 colour variants for the dial. He's also decided that it'll have applied indices as well, so it won't look so flat.

I'd say for the aimed $300 price point it's a pretty good deal

http://www.good-stuffs.com/Classic-Rodina-automatic-wrist-watch-OEM-by-Sea-Gull-ST17_p_156.html

on the website it mentions hand-winding... do you need to wind this watch?

>> No.8835932

>>8835919
You can, but it's not needed. It has an automatic movement that is hand wind capable. If you wear it daily, you won't need to manually wind it. The hand wind function is there primarily for if you happen to not wear it for a period of time, you can just wind it up and be good to go, instead of looking like a fool shaking your watch for a couple minutes to get a sufficient wind.

>> No.8835944

>>8835919

You don't NEED to hand wind it. It's automatic so if you wear it daily it should stay wound.

If you take it off for a day the power reserve will start running low, so you can wind the crown and pump some juice back into it.

It's a good feature to have on an automatic.

Popular watch and most owners say it's excellent for the money.

>>8835917

You working for Nadim now m8? Only joking. You do raise some good points though. I've already got a 2 register chrono so that's why I'm still on the fence. It does have great aesthetics and applied markers will definitely be a bonus. I'll keep an eye out for the KS campaign.

Aye, it was me who showed you the Orient Disk. I like that there are different colour variations. This is actually the "Capital" if you can believe it. Slightly different from the Bambino.

I wanted the Bambino first, but the Capital was $80 less than the Bambino on Amazon at the time.

I like how slim it is. This is a big factor for me. I have a slim wrist so massive Fossil watches will just look so bad on me.

Rose gold is beautiful, and goes well with practically any skin tone (as opose to yellow gold or red). It specially truly well when the metal is genuine rose gold (although I realize that, sadly, this isn't affordable for most people) as it olds in the wearer wrist and gains character, the combo is uncanny.

I love my Grand Lange 1 because it has aged with me and now looks "fused" with my skin's tone and imperfections.

Again, congrats.

Depends.

Are we talking models only in current production or vintage as well?

Sports or Dress or does it not matter?

incl. vintage the answer is the Rolex Submariner 5517 British Military edition aka MilSub.

Easily the most sought after rolex, very few made, a fraction of which are accounted for.

These cost $150,000+ depending on condition

there are too many to choose from in the vintage category. Rolex are infamous for fucking random an limited run stuff.

For example The first GMT Masters made for PanAm, they made like 10 or something in a white dial (only time ever) that were given to CEO's or owners or whatever. Ridiculously rare, basically priceless, even harder to come by than the 5517 Subs.
