Does anyone else have a huge 90s clothing trend where you live?

I live in the UK and everyone is wearing oversized vintage champion sweatshirts, ellesse gear, bright blue/purple track jackets, Air Max 90s, very bright blue skinny jeans etc.

what gives? is this the same thing as normcore or..?

Newcastle, but its most among the university students not the locals. Most posh kids seem to have come to uni decked head to toe in jack wills and after a year or two of popping pills and sweating out to deep house everyones started wearing 90s stuff.

Lots of people wearing stuff like pic related. Also tie dye t shirts (esp. adidas originals) and girls wearing hoop earrings and shit.

Oversized tees or sweatshirts look good with skinny (lightwashed) jeans. I personally can't hack trackies for non-sporting occasions, although Jai Paul looks sick in pic related. You know what? Pic related is the zenith of wavey garms I think.
I think the whole idea is not to look /fa/ approved at all, a bit like normcore: it's to wear things so objectively shite that they become good through the confidence of you wearing them.

What are people calling some of the bass music coming to recent popularity?

I'm talking DJs like Boddika, Joy Orbison, Paul Woolford, Midland, Pearson Sound, Mak and Pasteman etc.

Some people are calling it tech house ..but it doesn't sound like other tech house I listen to (It's more bassy, and not always a house beat at all, while tech house is more tinny/percusion).

Other people are calling it 'UK Bass' including rateyourmusic.com, which doesn't sound like a genre. I've never heard anyone say they're going to see a 'UK Bass' DJ, or going to a 'UK Bass' night.

I'm not sure if the current trend of UK Bass-y music is easily definable. It all seems to coalesce into one giant molasse of electornic music with 2-step elements; syncopated rhythms and sub-bass.

Likewise, what is played out in Newcastle will probably be taking off in some remote campus uni's.

Plus there's more variety of scenes, and clothing outlets in London than other cities. So trends are probably more pronounced in smaller cities.
