Should I get a pair of cdg x converse or some off white converses? Anyone have some experience with cdg? How is the quality?

>> No.8593931

bamp

>> No.8593932

The quality is pretty much the same as your normal Converse.

Someone could argue the heart is not worth the jump in the price compared to normal chucks but I'm happy with my CDG plays

>> No.8593944

What convinced you to buy cdg play as opposed to off white converse for almost half the price?

>> No.8594126

>>8593944
Not him, but their overall design is better (cleaner), I like CdG in general but don't really have any 'proper' pieces because I don't feel like they'd gel terribly well with the rest of my pieces, so if buying something from their diffusion-diffusion line gives them a couple of my bucks all the better, and I think the hearts are cute.

Do what you want, bruh, be happy.

it's the same fucking shoe as the chucks 70s repros, and the only difference between those and normal chucks is the stitch detail toward the front

i mean this post is phrased better than usual but damn dude people always say these are made better/made differently than normal chucks and that's just the most blatant placebo misinformation shit out of all the buyers-remorse placebo misinformation that gets posted around here

>> No.8595687

I have these and another pair of chucks and the build feels better and heavier but Im not expecting them to be like ultra tough or anything. If you do buy them get them from j crew not Barney's because Barney's has them listed as a women's shoe and only have them in women's sizes

I spot them occasionally in the WAYWT threads. They're nice to see, but don't strike me as anything particularly worth saving. This is the only picture I have.

they're made from the exact same materials and quality of materials as regular converse. They're prolly made in the same factory. The thing you pay extra for is the brand and the design. It's kind of like the rick flops, its just a very cheap designer item that helps them get enough money to pay for more expensive ventures. If you want to support the designer and feel like its worth it go for it.

Looking for shoes for this, so might as well try here...

Could I pull these shoes off while wearing pic related an blak jeans? Or is it gonna look erratic and incoherent? For some reason, I like these shoes and will probably cop them either way for other fits. I'm half black if my skin color plays into the whole equation.

to me its the arrangement of the colors and how many there are without it being patterned. It's really impractical for a piece of clothing.

Also I can tell the zippers are cheap and its supreme.

The zippers are pretty decent, at least mine are. But then again I don't know much about zipper quality. I had a feeling I'd get some flack for supreme here, but it's the only piece I own along with some t-shirts that don't have the blatant branding, I just really like it.

CDG converses are for awkward, fobby asians. Don't buy.

Regular converse have a shitty silhouette, look cheap and have crap proportions.

The only correct answer is 70's Converse.

>> No.8597832

>>8597822
I could see it working with darkwash blue jeans and maybe some... like grey shoes or something. Just try and tone down the rest of your outfit as much as possible so that it's the only contrast piece. It's just tough to work with.

>and the only difference between those and normal chucks is the stitch detail toward the front

False

70's chucks also have:

* Raised, shaped toecap

* Higher foxing on the sole

* Triple-layered canvas

* Aliminum eyelets

* Proper cotton laces rather synthetic

* Slightly wider foot

* Infinitely more comfortable insole.
