I'm going on a gap year to Australia, Vietnam, Cambodia etc. and as such I need a decent pair of shoes to trape around in for a year.

I'd prefer to only take a single pair (along with some flip flops of course) so I was thinking that a pair of 1460's would suit my needs.

Would these be okay or am I better of with something else?

(And does anybody have any recommendations with regards to Standard/For Life/Made in England variants of the 1460's)

Are these really good to hike around in? I thought they were more suited for urban conditions and that would tear the sole up.

That's kind of why I asked, I'll be in Australia for the majority of my time, so it seems okay

I don't plan on doing loads of hiking, plus hiking shoes look awful, so i dont think i need some specific application shoes

I live in Australia and this is sort of a minor issue but the grip on docs is shit in rain.

Take a pair of Nikes with you Flyknits, Free Runs, Roshe Runs. Anything lightweight because the Doc's will get annoying sometimes...

depends what season you come to australia in. these will be great in winter/autumn/spring but in summer they will be way too hot. a good idea would be to buy a pair of new balance or some other casual sneaker for summer in australia. same goes for vietnam and cambodia as well

consider jungle boots. either us milsurp or reproductions. palladiums might even be worth a look.

>>8330530

they're just us military jungle boots, you might be able to find us milsurp ones if you search around, otherwise rothco makes reproductions.
