Does anyone here have kids they dress up ? I'd need some help now.. My kid is gonna turn 15 this year, up untill now, I only bought him clothes that would make him look like the average highschooler (pic kinda related), but now I wonder, should I make him /fa/, should I keep going with the average highschooler look or should I just let him buy his clothes ? Last time I forced him to buy his own clothes he looked so bad that I'm not sure I want to see it again. I've asked him if he wanted me to at least tell him what to avoid and he didn't seem all that interested.

Anyway, if you're a parent, what would you do ? And if you're a teen, what would you want your father to do ?

If he's not interested, he's not interested. If you want to encourage his interest, then show him maybe something just a hair nicer than what you know he already likes to see if he responds.

Guess I could take him to buy his clothes but I don't think he'd really enjoy being seen shopping with his father and I can't really blame him

>>8317811
If he wants to look retarded, he can do it with his own money. I'm sorry if anyone truly enjoyes this ''style'', but I don't

Get him a LV belt, Levi jeans, and a couple of polos and tees from brand names. Boom done.

North face jackets are good too for winter.

Footwear include jordans, nike, MMM/Gucci high tops.

Bitches will be on his dick

you made the mistake of dressing him up cool. my parents gave me the shittiest clothes they could find i think, and so i became effay out of spite

I did everything I possibly could to keep him from being socially awkward, and I figured that dressing him cool was one of the things that could help

this,

you can't just thrust him into it, you need to slowly ease him into it, otherwise he will reject it completely. Also involve him in the decision process, if he is he will be much more likely to continue wearing the stuff, even if you give him the choice between two things you have previously chosen, if he makes the final decision he will be much more accepting.

Also be patient, everyone starts slow

I don't understand how that makes sense. how can you be dressing him normally, and he be a normal person, and he not understand how to dress? like it just doesnt make sense, he has to be fucked up in the head or something
has he hit puberty yet? im his age and i was dressing fucktardedly until prolly this year

He's a teenager, it's time to start letting him make his own decisions and express himself, even if that means he dresses in a way you don't like.

>> No.8318536

I made terrible clothing choices as a teen. Lacked the most basic common sense. Without knowing better, I believed mall tier stuff was on the expensive end of clothing articles and sticked with c&a most of the time. Also, my idea of size and fit d just completely off. At your son's age, I copped stuff in L and XL - I'm actually a S to M thin type.

So, don't send your son shopping without giving him some basic to advanced knowledge.

As for me, the turning point came as a young adult, when I needed to dress semi-professionally for the job and other social occasion. Having a goal greatly helps motivate.

Anyways, lemme guess, you're one of the young, hip, mid30 dads.

Just let him wear what he wants. If he is at all intelligent then he will realize that his clothing is hindering him and he will change it himself. If not, then he's gonna be a neckbeard for the rest of his life anyway so there's no hope.

What kind of clothes does he pick out when you let him? Do they not fit? Are they fedora-tier neckbeard uniforms or are they just clothes kids wear in a phase?

>> No.8319426

What are his interests ?
I used to listen to a lot of hip-hop, and dressed like hip-hoppers. Moved away from that, that was to baggy.
I'd say if he plays vidya all day, chances are for he cares for clothes equals zero. Maybe some fan t-shirts

>> No.8319467

I would say COS, as they make nice, normal stuff but some more interesting items also, and you don't want to be spending a lot of money on someone who doesn't care for fashion.

>> No.8319562

Maybe get him some unbranded raws or naked and famous on sale. They're versatile and getting raws for the first time feels amazing, the quality difference is visible to anyone no matter how pleb. It feels good to have something that you feel is a 'good piece', but i guess your son has no standards so a fitting pair of levis would prob seem just as nice
