Why do so many girls spend huge amounts of money on huge quantities of cheap, ugly clothes?

Maybe it's just in my region or maybe I'm a sexist pig without realising it, but almost all girls I know do this, whereas most guys I know are either disinterested in fashion or are quite interested and actually make good purchases semi-frequently as opposed to buying shopping bags full of mall-tier junk every weekend.

Because people who do it primarily because it's expected of them don't actually care, they will buy cheap things that can be thrown out when they are 'out of fashion'. Everything being cheap and nasty lends itself well to them because they will consume then dispose of the clothes, rather than purchasing quality products that last for an extended period of time
