I want to create a new wardrobe for myself.

How many of each piece of clothing should I buy to have enough combinations?

I live in Canada so I'd need to buy a jacket + boots as well.

How much do you think this would cost me?

First, take your time and do some research. Browse fa, mfa, tumblr, amd other shit. Find a style you want to emulate.

Buy a couple basic ts, a button up or two, and a good pair of jeans. Then branch out from there.

Take your time and dont buy something if you are at all unsure. And for the love of god, dont buy outfits. Thats how women and faggots do fashion. Buy a piece at a time that fits well with everything else.

How much it will cost depends ob how much you want to spend.

Shopping sprees turn out horrible when you don't know what you're doing.
Take it one piece at a time, and just ask yourself: what does my wardrobe NEED?
"I need a jacket I can wear out causally to the bar. Ill go look around for something I that I like the wearin and I feel looks good on me."

Simple.

cool red twill jeans.

start out by buying expensive clothes that don't go together or look good on you at all, but that you wanted because they were hyped on /fa/ and hypebeest and sufu etc.

2 pairs of skinny jeans (1 black, 1 dark blue)
2 pairs of chinos (dark blue, sand, bordeaux, dark green are all good colours)
3-4 basic tees (white, gray, black)
1 zip hoodie (black)
1 white button up shirt (choose oxford if you will use it in your everyday life)
1 stripped button up shirt (white + blue or green or dark red)
1-2 casual, checked button up shirts
1 coat
1 spring jacket
1 pair of white sneakers
1 pair of black sneakers
1 pair of desert boots
1 pair of leather boots (black or brown) for the winter

You'll also need a watch, a pack of marlboros and a pair of sunglasses

anybody want to add this to my list?

Thanks for the input about shopping sprees, I think it will be a project of mine that will last from may to octoberish

Kind of OP's position. Hope he doesn't mind me piggybacking.
Where can I get some cheap pants?
I got some jeans, fine there, I need chinos I guess? Maybe some slim cargo pants?

Depends on how you want to dress. People who want the gothninja aesthetic won't want chinos for example. Also depends on how much you can wear an item without washing it and if you want quality over quantity.

I rotate between 5 legwear (2 raws, 2 Engineered Garments fatigue trousers, and a pair of navy corduroys), 5 shirts, 2 jackets, and then I normally throw on a sweater or another layer if it's cold. I own too many shoes but I like to focus on them. I could probably live with about 5 pairs of shoes.
