can someone pls explain wtf is happening rite now

i shaved me my head down to a #2 like 3 months ago, and it was straight and soft and nice then (think zac efron or leonardo dicaprio)

now its grown back like this (except shorter)

im 19 if that helps at all...

when i was younger i had pin straight hair
as i grew (during puberty) i found some kinky hair lol

also my mom had cancer and had to shave her hair and when it grew back it got curlier, was straight before too

Same happened to my grandpa, he buzzed it for the war when he was 16 (it wasn't ww2), and it grew back all curly.

However when I buzzed it, it grew back just fine. I don't know.
