It's not fashionable in the real world but in the context of the game and as far as character design goes it's that bad and is actually pretty good if you've played the original Devil May Cry games. The point also when the game was originally released you must remember was to appeal to a certain subset of people and that was the youth. The newer version of the character was created to appeal to a newer, different youth who is the primary consumer of the product.

IMO the new Donte does look better outfit wise, too bad everything else about the new DmC was absolute garbage. The transforming world and setting was neato but it was ruined by the shitty platforming and linearity. And that isn't even mentioning the fuck awful gameplay.
