Are zippo lighters autistic? I'm talking about using them, carrying one on you, not collecting or just owning one.

I'm a 27 year old man who has an anxiety disorder. Before carrying a Zippo, it manifested as a shaky leg, knuckle drumming or twirling a pen.

I carry the Zippo with me because the opening, lighting and closing sounds and feel keep my nervous system calm and also helps me A TON with my focus. Though I only do that at home or perhaps when out with friends at a bar.

I'm certain autistic people may carry them, and perhaps many of them do as a way to focus or calm them.

Mostly open and close it. Not like a crazy person or anything, just like normal speed.

I put fuel it up. I don't light it very often. Maybe 4 or 5 times a day max. Mostly at night or when I'm outside.

For the most part OP, ZIppos are autistic.

Zippo carriers cant seem to shut up about their lighter, here are some quick lines you have to learn to carry a Zippo

"I just like the Zippo taste it gives you"

"Its such a classic lighter"

"Watch this trick"

"Heya, need a light *tries to do trick and fails*"

If you are going to go down that road of being an utter autist and buying a shit "windproof" lighter, that needs refiling weekly, and makes your cigarette taste of fuel for the first two smokes, then please for the love of god. Buy a plain metal one, and dont even mention it. Someone needs a light, cup your hands and light their cigarette, if someone mentions your lighter, talk about it, but by no means think that anyone smoking wants to be impressed by you lighting your lighter off your jeans.

>> No.7816364

bic are absolute shit tier quality, cannot be opened (broken up) and converted so you get the most out of your gas and can't even be refilled. absolute garbage, complete ass.

>> No.7816368

>>7816328

Ill add to this, what makes smoking /fa/ is that you are killing yourself and dont even care. Its the nonchalant attitude, the apathy to life, that makes it a "cool" thing to do.

By caring about any aspect of your smoking you are negating this entire cool aspect.

If you can afford to smoke expensive cigarettes, then go for it, you can afford it, but making it your "thing" just makes you uncool in my opinion

You don't have to do it infront of other people ya know. Also how is having a lighter you can refill bad? How is saving money bad? How does saving money not make you the opposite of a 14 year old stoner? Well I wouldn't know because I'm a 20 year old stoner.

Stop trying to justify yourself dude, its a 60 pence lighter.

The only thing youve said that makes any sense is the refilling part. Which again, because its a 60 pence lighter, doesnt really matter.

As for actually defining yourself as a stoner, thats just sad. Akin to choosing to identify as an alcoholic,

>Which again, because its a 60 pence lighter, doesnt really matter.

It definitely does if you're smoking bong, I go through two or three non-refillable in a busy week.

>As for actually defining yourself as a stoner, thats just sad. Akin to choosing to identify as an alcoholic,

Pull the stick out of your ass, lmao. Some people smoke herb now and then, boo hoo. Not like atleast half this board is either full-on alcoholic, constantly on painkillers or on antidepressants.

I smoke weed dude, I also drink, I also occasionally take coke.

But defining yourself as a stoner is genuinely sad as fuck.

Dont define yourself by whatever drug you choose to inhale, inject or drink to get you through your boring little life.

Give it all of 2 years and you'll soon realise how stupid you look.

zippos are fine, op. especially that solid brass one. you obviously want to avoid tacky designs on it.

buy a butane insert. it doesn't waste fuel and it doesnt make your cigs taste like lighter fluid. but then again you can just straight up buy a butane lighter in the first place

Zippos are pleb-tier lighters, but a lot of people get into collecting lighters and vintage smoking paraphernalia through Zippos.

I have an old WWII Ronson and a 1960s Colibri from West Germany and they are both much cooler than any Zippo. Plus I got them each at antique stores for like 4 bucks a piece(they are easily worth like $70 with new flint and fuel).

But I think carrying a fancy lighter if you don't smoke is kind of weird, with obvious exceptions(like our friend who suffers from anxiety). If you just need it for "survival", all you should have is a Bic or something else light and disposable. Emphasis on the disposable.

You could probably find better stuff consistently on eBay, but it's usually more expensive. CL is cool, but kind of too much of a production for a lighter. Antique stores are usually the best for finding cheap gems because antiquers usually don't know too much about lighters(so they sell them for a really small markup).

Search imco lighters. The base of this lighters was first made in WWI from an ammo shell.
You can use it as a candle torch and it last two times more than the zippo because of better enclosure.
