So the hair at the bottom of my head isn't long enough to put into my main bun (which is made up of fringe/top/top-back and some sides) thus i have the lower-back hanging down on my shoulders.

Is it acceptable to put it in a bun of its own? I've been complimented on my bun before (I only wear at small close friend social gatherings and to the gym). But wear a hat the rest of the time because I'm growing it out.
