I have a question here.
I want to make me a tee, but instead of printing, I want a full size embroidery. Tell me, is it possible to convert a picture into those thread without it looking like a carpet or pixelart?
Could not google a well-looking example, most of them are just small logos in the corner.
Also, picture is generic anime shit, is it possible to make it, em, "full color", without empty spaces outlined by a thread? Pic is what I don't want it to look like.

yes it's ezpz anon. all you need is a pack of dye, white jeans, and a container (pot/storage bin/whatever) to dye them in.

when you buy the dye, choose a dark shade of the color you want (to achieve your pic, buy navy dye). don't follow the instructions on the package. just add a small amount of the dye to your water. you're trying to create the light blue at the top. once you get the color right, submerge the pants in water all the way up to the mid/high thigh area and let it soak. after a minute, take the pants out. add a bit more dye and STIR IT WELL. put the pants back in, but not all the way up to where you dyed before. now you'll have two shades, the light blue from the first soak, and the slightly darker blue from the second soak. keep repeating this- adding more dye and working further down the pants until you achieve the desired look.

things to remember:
the more dye you're using, the faster it'll dye, so you probably don't need to leave the light-medium blue soaks in too long (but near the bottom where it's black you may need to leave them in for a while to really let the jeans get saturated). to make the fade gradual do lots of soaks, and put very little distance between each "layer" of dye. make sure you stir very well each time you add more dye- if you use powdered dye you can easily end up with dark spots if you're not careful. the dye will stain your container. be careful when washing the dye out of your jeans after you're done... use the sink and do each leg individually, working from the top to the bottom so you don't get blue dye on the white part... would not recommend washing them any other way.

good luck!

Thank you based anon, I'm eager to do this as well but with a t-shirt. If it goes well I can see this happening to many tshirts.

I'm thinking plain white tees with a colour dyed from either the bottom or the top to about halfway, with a similar fade effect to the jeans posted above. After some googling apparently it's called ombre.

It seems straightforward enough to do with one colour (thanks for your tips by the way), but how about with two or more? I was thinking a plain white tee, a red dye at the bottom 1/4 that fades into an orange at the next 1/4, which fades out into the white of the tee.

Does anyone know how this could be achieved? I've got a big thing for simple, coloured garms, and customized / personalized clothing, and this seems simple enough for me to do.
