Japanese streetwear has nothing to do with skin colour. It all ties into layering. That's what makes it "Japanese" streetwear and not just "streetwear". It's about the little details. Look at any serious JPstreet fit, there's always a bunch of little subtle details going on. As a whiteboi who's pretty into it and has met Japaneseboi's who are into it, they're on an entirely different level. I've never seriously layered or accessorized and that's what's holding me back. It's almost like teaching yourself how to dress again and I'm not sure how much farther I want to go with it because at this point it feels pretty unnatural. Gotta spend at least a year on my little details game.

Unless you're cool with wearing a lot of accessories and layering heavy you're never going to look like any legit JPstreet dudes. That's all it comes down to. If you've never done that type of thing before it's way harder than it looks.

Im not expert on the matter but I always love how..."playful" japanese fits look. Like, theyre not afraid to look a bit goofy. Many western streetwear brands seem so serious and conceited while jap is always very laid back, to me at least.

I think East Asians have an ability to pull most things off much better than westerners.

I dont think any westerners can pull off Asian street wear without looking like a pretentious tryhard. Its almost like westeners, despite being from a more liberal culture still need to dress more conservatively and conform.
