Half-black femanon here. I don't know what to do with my hair.

I don't want to relax, heat it, or wear weaves. I like it curly.

I prefer my hair long but my hair is a hassle. When I was little I used to wear those cute lil' Black girl braids then I went straight haired.. Now I have no clue what to do.

I wore my hair in a short afro for 2 years but that's gotten boring. I tried a long afro but it's too much of a headache having to blow out and pick. My scalp is too sensitive for cornrows and I can't get my hair to do those long haired styles I see other women have.

I recently buzzed my hair. I like it this length but a part of me wishes it was past my shoulders.

I had a friend in high school who always whined about her hair being difficult (it was about a 6 on the nappyness scale in reality)

When we were all 17 or around that I guess she got tired of doing it herself/letting her mom handle it (that sounds like a really late age to me but I'm not a girl so I don't know) and started going to get it done professionally. Not sure what exactly they did to her hair, but it made it pretty long and vertical (as opposed to growing outward into a fro) while retaining her natural curliness.

It looked like a cool style to me. Not sure if this helps much but this thread reminded me of her
