The nike dunk is the greatest shoe ever made. It's versatile, looks great, makes your feet look big/sizable, comfy as hell, durable, and lasts forever. You can do anything from skateboarding to basketball, to even showing up to a fucking job interview in a nicer, luxurious pair of dunks. If you disagree you're a either pretentious hipster with no real fashion sense, or some stupid hypebeast/swagfag who only likes popular shoes like Air Jordans. Picture fucking related, just got a fresh pair. Gonna wear them till they're not fucking wearable anymore. Wearing them with white laces though.

Depends on the job, most corporate money-hungry and ass-kissing jobs, no. Jobs where your boss is a down to earth chiller who doesn't judge you by how well you blend into the "corporate" uniform, then dunks are a fine choice. Maybe not the best choice, but they'll do if you have nothing else. Just arguing the versatility. Magazine, media jobs, ect, dunks will be a fine choice as long as the rest of your outfit is presentable.

SB is built for skateboarding. More padding and a grippier sole. IMO it's a better shoe overall, even for basketball. They were made when no one really knew how the fuck to make a proper skateboarding shoe that actually lasted, so they actually paved the way for a lot of the skateboarding shoes made today.

Really? Maybe 5-10 years ago. It's only jordans now where i live. maybe thats the east coast though. i'm in san francisco, california and SBs are dying out here, on the plus side it's super easy to get rarer pairs now.

Also to everyone taking my job interview comment out of proportion, I work two jobs. One's at a well-known magazine and video production company and the other is at a restaurant for extra $. /fa/ has no idea what they're talking about. They're too concerned with looking "different" or gaining some online message board's approval to recognize a great shoe. I prefer air max's because of the support, but dunks will never die. Real G's rock sneakers. Sellouts and rat-racers wear loafers and "grown up" shoes. But never, ever, wear a pair of sneakers to a job interview, lol, unless it's for a shoe store or something. Boca Jrs. are my personal favorite. too lazy to post a picture. i guess thats because i also like soccer though.

That sucks that they're expensive to you. I get a discount at my store and they often put shoes at 50% once they need to make room for the newer shoes. They used to be pretty reasonably priced, just idiot kids who are willing to pay an assload of money for a shoe are ruining it for everyone else

Maybe, but the arch it gives your feet scream "rolled" ankle if you take them to other sports than basketball. Still a great shoe though. I actually skate (and still do despite everyone telling me "teenagers should be doing that"), so i never got into the AF1s.

meh, if you wanna complain about price vs. quality, then jordan is a way bigger victim then a junk. its double the cost (at least) yet the fucking sole starts separating from it, or crumbling after a lot of wear. not a huge fan. the 5s, 1s, and 3s are awesome looking shoes though.


another one of my favorites. brian anderson is so fucking cool. dude looks like he belongs in a prison cell yet he's one of the nicest, warmest people you'll meet. he really catered to the SF skate scene with this shoe. plus its cool he's a semi-openly gay athlete, very respectable.

dunks are great. people who disagree have never played a sport in their life. tired of seeing all the non-performance shoes being labeled as "stylish". function>fashion. i personally like blazers and rosches better though. havent seen a good pair of blazers release in a while, but those neckface ones are really out there. good shit OP, fuck all these sensitive tumblr fags dissing on a shoe that is actually built for durability and versatility. i can attest to these shoes not being "cheap", although the quality has gone done over the years. still last a fucking long time though (and still look great beat-up).

for running/chillin they are. not for anything else unless you enjoy rolled ankles. good shoe though. i agree that the AJ1 is a overall better shoe than the basketball nike dunk, but i think the SBs are built to last longer and wayyyy more comfortable. all dat padding feels like pillows on your feet.

in college one of my "sneakerhead" friends gave me this pair of nike dunks for like $30-40. i didnt really care about exclusivity, sneakers, the names of them or any of that shit, but once i put these on, i didn't know what they were called, where they were from, or what type of shoe it was. I just knew I was the man. I got a lot of compliments from girls on them and other dudes (which i dont really understand about "sneakerheads"). later on in life i found out they were called the "blue samba". i cant find them anywhere reasonably priced. i really miss them. these shoes made me realize what a good pair of shoes does to you. I now wear mostly nike running shoes or adidas. my boss lets us wear casual shoes to work but i would never wear a pair of the shoes i actually like to an interview. IMO leather/loafers/formal shoes are just fucking ugly and uncomfortable.

I used to LOVE the SB line but a couple years ago something must have happened because all the creativity went the fuck out.
