I know you care greatly for your clothing /fa/, but do you care about your skin? What kind of moisturizers do you use? Any wrinkle creams?

This right here is my miracle cream and it's only $8 for a big 4oz tub. Last forever and makes my skin incredibly soft.

i use whatever my mom buys

btw, it's a chemical exfoliater so you don't have to scrub your skin anymore. It dissolves dead skin. You can probably use it on other parts of your body if you have dry feet or those weird upper arm bumps.

Shave days (every other day):
1. Create a lather with Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood soap (I'm going to get shaving cream or potentially just a shaving oil next time).
2. Shower, no shampoo--conditioner only.
3. Dry neck and shave closely with an electric clipper (to prevent the shaving rash I usually get on my neck).
4. Apply lather and shave with a cheap safety razor that I stole when I was unemployed, edgy as fuck.
5. Wash face with hot water.
6. Exfoliate with regular and probably far too abrasive facial scrub. I'm going to look into getting some alpha hydroxy cream but I don't yet know what the best stuff I'd be able to get in England is.
7. Wash face with cold water and apply a non-alcoholic toner from Simple.
8. Splash face with cold water and pat dry.
9. Apply SPF moisturiser.

On non-shave days I do the same thing but with a gentle cleansing facial wash from Simple.

If I had more money I'd look into trying some of the stuff on Mankind (http://www.mankind.co.uk/home.dept))

I've heard good things about using just a regular milky-porridge mix once or twice a week.

Have you tried their Let The Good Times Roll? Smells absolutely amazing. And it's a fine grain exfoliant so it's not too harsh on the skin.

>> No.7371540

>>7371519
Yeah. didn't work for me. Neither did Angels on Bare Skin so I upgraded to Dark Angels. Best thing I ever did and one pot has lasted ~7-8 months.

>>7371514

If I don't have a face mask available I make one with banana, porridge oats, plain yoghurt and a little honey. Works fine but I like the convenience/variety of Lush ones.

Also if you soak oats in water overnight and straining it the next morning, it makes a good quick toner that lasts like a week in the fridge.

>> No.7371541

There was meant to be a sentence in there about how the milky porridge thing should logically work because of the aforementioned uses of oats.

I'm torn at the moment between using what would be considered mainly natural products such as are created at LUSH and things that would be considered more chemical I.E. the cleanser in the OP.

There's a LUSH in the centre here so I might make a trip in to get some of the Dark Angels. Do you use it for oily skin?

>> No.7371552

>>7371542
Yeah. I've got combination skin (and the oily bits are pretty damn oily). it's meant to be a once/twice a week thing but it's different for everyone, so I'd recommend trying it daily, then every other day and continuing like that until you find the sweet spot.

And you really do only need a pea-penny sized amount for your whole face. any more and you'll spend more time cleaning it off the sink that you did your face.

I tend to alternate between Lush and chemical products. Natural products can only do so much and sometimes I need that man made product to get the results I want.

For instance, I've tried Lush's moisturizers and they are tad too greasy for me and caused breakouts. So I'll use Clinique or Olay instead.

I get an oily nose and forehead but the rest of my skin is dry--much like yours I imagine.

>>7371554
I'd really like to try some Aesop stuff. It seems like the perfect compromise but it's just too expensive for me at the moment.

Does using a mask such as the Oatfix really help your skin? Will you notice the difference if you don't use it for a few weeks? I've never used a mask.

>> No.7371583

I believe in taking care of myself and a balanced diet and rigorous exercise routine. In the morning if my face is a little puffy I'll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1000 now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

>>7371583
Why would he use an ice pack before he uses a deep pore cleansing lotion? And why does he use that before he has a shower? Why does he use an exfoliator after a water activated gel cleanser?

I've never understood his routine. Bret Easton Ellis should really have studied the exercise and skin care routine more thoroughly.

I think it does make a difference. It makes my skin look brighter and has evened out my complexion. Nothing drastic would happen if I skipped a couple of weeks of face masks, but my face would feel heavier/dirtier and my skin would be less vibrant.

By vibrant I mean I look less like I spent a week in bed without showering. Anyway Lush has a whole range just for guys (who are usually dragged there by their girlfriends and too insecure in their masculinity to use anything that's not explicitly "FOR MEN") called Dirty. Smells quite nice, actually.

No. BBcream is like a concealer/sunscreen/foundation/moisturiser in one so it's not a replacement or anything and they only make it for women (to the best of my knowledge) . Get some samples off of ebay and see which ones match your skintone best. I use #23 (biscuit) and pic related are some comparisons.
