if its recent, you can usually find the new price up on mr porter, ssense, farfetch, whichever site. for older stuff

if its older, you can look through ebay for similar stuff, as well as looking through ebay sold listings which is even better. some items will be more popular/worth more than others, but say if youre looking at how much to spend on general items a rick hoodie you can see the general price range of what theyre selling at, what theyve sold at, what theyre selling at on other websites like sufu, sz, sf, etc.

but again how much youre willing to spend should be based off how much you like it (unless youre planning to resell, its defs ok to look for good deals but dont cop just because theyre good deals, and dont be afraid to overpay/pay full price for something you really like or have been looking for

honestly its not even something you have to worry about, paypal/ebay ALWAYS side with the buyer, if you receive something it will be obvious that its fake and you will get a full refund, however you can just watch for sketchy shit if you dont want your time wasted, new ebay sellers, sellers with bad/low rep, things that look fake from pics. but again dont really worry about it, with stuff like rick, julius, ann d, whatever, the price point is so high that the fakes will be very noticeably poorer quality
