It's not just frisbee, you can go on walks with your dog, take them practically anywhere, go hunting with your dog, etc. And I'm pretty sure kids enjoy playing catch, don't they? Same concept. Not to mention you can train them to do practical things too, like detecting bombs, survivors in wreckage, missing persons, drugs, chemicals, biological weapons, and even cancer.

And cats can... sit on their asses and sleep.
