the trick:

DIY and not going for the SZ "gothninja" look; settle for the diluted, monochromatic look that is only reminiscent- very common on sufu.

first be in shape. have a lean athletic physique; not swole but not skinny as fuck. you're dumb if you think heroinskinny people look good in GN- they don't. the clothes are going to drapey over your physique, if you've got a lean, muscular "ottermode" body it'll look best and accentuate your physique. if you have a super narrow chest and no arms you are gonna look like a fuccboi.

cop things like black/grey tapered jeans and skinnies. black, white and asphalt grey tees. cop linen shirts and plain flannel shirts when you can.

things like rick/damir doma sweatshorts are really easy to make yourself. if you spend $500 for a pair of sweatshorts you're fucking dumb.

either settle for spending $120-$140 on Silent tee-shirts, or learn to DIY them yourself. you can buy shirts that look a bit similar to rick at American Apparel (Size up on the baby thermals, the summer shirts and the "viscose tees")

take advantage of the low end brands. ovate, allsaints, VTB, zespy track pants etc.

spend the most money on outerwear and shoes; buy them used on sufu or styleforum.

pic related: it is a budget outfit, most of it is thrifted/diy.
