I bought a pair of skinny jeans a couple of months ago and I hadn't ever washed them until today. After the first three weeks or so they weren't tight anymore and they started to fit worse. Yesterday I went out partying with these and a friend of mine ended throwing wine all over them. Today I had to wash them, kind of fearful, and what is my surprise when they get out of the washing machine just as good as the first day.

Thank god I never bought that no poo crap.

Mine are stretch cotton and well sized. I think the problem might be that when they start to become looser, I wear them a bit higher for them to fit a bit tighter, and thus they get even looser due to stress.

There's considerable debate about how to care for such things. It depends on your goals. I like them to stay dark, am a fan of hygiene and don't care about "sick fadez" so mine get a periodic wash in Woolite Dark on my machine's "hand wash" setting.
