and I did swim in them; where did I say I didn't? however, swim trunks are honestly much better. while these are water-repellant, they still soak up water like a normal fabric. so while rain beads and falls off, if they are submerged, they get soaked and take just as long as any other pair of cotton shorts or whatever to dry.
