Hey /fa/.
I need a jacket for cold winters and I live in Europe.
I tried buying a Canada Goose bomber which was supposed to cost around 580 dollars as I ordered it on Amazon.com, but my country's customs added a nearly 300 dollar tax to it because in my country, the jacket sells for around 750 dollars.

I can't justify spending that much for a jacket regardless of warmth and the CG bomber is really perfect for me.
If I try ordering on Ssense, will the customs still add that tax?

What can I do?
Thanks.

That's my problem.

I'm not in London, though.

The reason why I wanted to order on Ssense is that their Canada based webshop sells the jacket for 595 dollars. That's within my budget.

Canada Goose enormously inflate their prices when selling in Europe, just like Levi's.

>>7163433
I did say that I specifically wanted the CG. I know you guys think it's pleb, I don't mind, but everything from the warmth to the shape/design fits me well.
Since there are lots of fakes I wouldn't want to buy used.

What do you mean by that exactly?

I asked them if I'll end up paying a tax for the order but I didn't specifically asked what you said.

was gonna make a thread but this seams like a good place to ask.

Whats the consensus on TAD gear? im thinking of going for the stealth hoodie (pictured) but am unsure if i should instead do a ranger hoodie and a hardshell. the second option makes more sense in terms of versatility and weather proofing, but the stealth hoodie looks fucking rad and would probably have a better fit. opinions?

also note both would be in black, patchless, and im talking about the stealth hoodie, not the stealth hoodie LT.

the ranger hoodie for comparison. note the all fleece construction and also be aware this version has the patch points which i will opt out of.

OP here.

Ssense told me that they couldn't ship CG outside of North America anyway due to brand regulations.

So what do I do now? There's no other website selling them for 595 dollars apparently.
Apparently I can't order a jacket without paying a 300 dollar customs tax, the fuck is that shit

>> No.7163520

>>7163473
Ask them if they'll mark it as a lower value than you have to pay taxes on it

For instance I live in the UK, I ordered some headphones from Australia, I asked the seller to mark them down so I wouldn't have to pay tax and on the invoice he wrote that they were worth £9, rather than £100.

You can also have someone send it as a gift.

Well as I said here >>7163495, they don't even ship it outside of North America.
So I'm going to have to find another website which sells them.
The method you're telling me about is clever though, thank you.

>have someone send it as a gift
I don't know anyone in the USA.

Are the canada goose shells worth it though

I'm more or less in the same case as OP although I'm not dead set on canada goose but I want something really fucking warm and only cg seems to do the job

are there any online retailers which sell some cg at reasonable prices in europe
is the quality good enough to somewhat justify the price (more or less)?

Is outerwear the best investment after shoes?

I mean, are outerwear garments, next to footwear, the clothes I should spend the most money on?

>> No.7163651

>>7163644
yeah, everything else can be basic bitch and readily replacable but outerwear and shoes offer the best value for your money. denim is arguably better value, but i feel outerwear has more of a performance aspect and therefore warrants more investment.

>> No.7163659

>>7163651
>denim is arguably better value
Well, as of now I'm just starting to get into raw denim so I won't make it an investment

>outerwear has more of a performance aspect and therefore warrants more investment
Would brands such as the ones mentioned in the thread (specifically Canada Goose and Parajumpers, the latter being the most interesting to me) fit that description? As I'm searching for a warm bomber jacket, I don't have much choices and those two brands caught my eye. Wondering if paying 800 dollars for a down filled waterproof bomber is justifiable.

I'm not OP, to avoid confusion.

Hey OP, check on Ebay, no really.
My friend ordered the same bomber (chilliwack or something right?) and got it for 490 inc p&p from a store that was selling genuine CG products, he'd picked up several when over in the states I'd assume.

Uh, bro

What's the logic in that
OP got taxed 300 dollars on a 600 dollar purchase because the product costs 900 dollars in his country.

If ssense marks it down to, say, 300 dollars or something, won't OP have to pay 600 dollars?

Please explain

>> No.7164198

Tax is usually a percentage of the price, not an arbitrary price that it has to be made up to.

Either OP doesn't understand how tax works or he lives in a really stupid country.
