Are suspenders in? Going to my girlfriends homecoming dance and I'm matching her, just wondering if suspenders are in, and how would you suggest wearing them? No bowtie?

Please don't wear suspenders and a bow tie. Only wear a bow tie if it's for black/white tie. Depending on how formal the event is, (sorry not an American - isn't homecoming some grid iron parade thing?) I would just go with basic slim trousers/shirt combo, jacket and tie if it's more formal

Thanks for being understanding haha. I'm only 5 foot 5, it sucks. Ties just honestly look strange. And homecoming is a "spirit week" of your school to show your pride, then there is a homecoming football game. The school votes for who is the homecoming court, and who will be the homecoming king and queen. The next day (generally its the next day) there is a dance. Nobody wears jackets, its generally just a dress shirt + tie/neck tie because it's too hot.

Personally I think black trousers white shirt with open neck would look better than any of the shit you're suggesting. Grey trousers with a white shirt and a navy or burgundy tie would be better I think. Those colours are much more sophisticated than plain old red or blue ties
