Say I buy all my basics (tees, sweaters, knitwear, denim and outerwear) from APC.

Will I get my money's worth?

I'm re-starting college soon and want a durable wardrobe that's simple and inoffensive/basic. Durability is important but I don't want to compromise on style.

Also, see subject

Some of you guys like Loro Piana a lot and I see guys posting about it like it's the best cashmere brand ever.

Loro Piana is too classic for me, though.
I'd like to know if any of you had opinions about this new little brand which appeared on Mr Porter:

>Are well cut, fit well
>Use relatively good quality materials (comfortable, etc) though I'm not asking for Hermès tier shit

Fairly simple. I want to know if APC makes that kind of clothes.

I normally never dress up, but I have been invited to a party in a few days time that I need semiformal dress for - casual suit jacket, trousers and the like. I have some collared shirts but haven't bothered to purchase a suit jacket or trousers before.

It would probably be a good idea to invest in a decent jacket because I start university next year and will be needing it for a variety of more formal events.

I read the introduction and such and I understand that, but I don't have the luxury of online shopping due to living in a smaller country. I'll describe my build, then maybe if you're kind enough you could throw some pictures my way or something.

I'm about 179cm (5.87 feet) and weigh about 58 kilograms (128 pounds). I have brown hair that is approx 4cm long and sits loosely in no particular pattern. My hair is naturally curly if allowed to grow.

Brand name clothes isn't supposed to be more durable and may even be less durable. You get it because you like the cut and quality and the you don't mind paying premium for it. You will notice a difference between Acne and uniqlo, but if that's worth $80 is up to you.

You've posted this person before, right?

I think it's the sum of the parts that's what defines a face as masculine or feminine and facilitates the identification of gender. Last time I think I saw this pic, I thought that this jaw was feminine but I didn't say so before for fear of furthering the insecurity in that post and in this one.

Generally speaking, it's features like:
>pointed chin (as opposed to broad or clefted)
>jawline is a gentle slope (as opposed to square and well-defined)
>lack of facial hair
>non-prognathic chin

But as I said, I do think it's the sum of the parts and the way we carry ourselves that helps to assert our gender identity. I personally have a slight maxilliary prognathism which gives me the appearance of a "weaker chin". But combined with the rest of my face (facial hair, thick and dense eyebrows, haircut, etc.), I'm not bothered by it as much as when my face was less masculine overall.

Serious answer here for OP
I've known A.P.C. for quite some time now and way before it was that well known and over hyped.
I can tell you honestly that when it come to Denim you totaly get your money's worth.
Their price never changed and same goes for quality and again i know what i'm talking about i'm french and i've been able to talk with people from the brand many time, i've also been able to note what i'm telling you over the years.

BUT when it come to tees, sweaters etc.. you might have to know that if the quality is good, that's not their speciality and they always have a minimalistic but qualitative approch of clothing. So if you are looking for some really basics with mostly minimalistic design they are the way to go but if you're looking for a more "normal" aesthetic in your basics then consider another brand that could give you the same level of quality for better prices (except for jeans)

Bio: WJK make their clothing totally standard, having a realistic and basic style. They always consider timeless design along with current tastes, and make the quality of materials as high as possible. They focus on a basics, like tailored suits, jackets, or military inspired clothing that has stayed without change for many centuries. WJK has no large branding tags but instead uses black eyelets as tags. They believe that the clothing should not the be about the brand name, but about style and design. That is why the brand name WJK has no special meaning in it. They simply picked three letters of the alphabet that they liked, and just put them together.

Is it a bad idea to buy flyknits for fall/winter?
I'm looking for some new low sneakers that can handle a lot of walking, some dancing, something that I won't get sweaty feet in if I'm out the whole day. I've been eyeing the black Lunars and the b/w racers, tried them on and like them well enough, but I have no idea how they perform in rain, snow, wind, coldness.

Other suggestions are also welcome.

question for my niggas

i have a police issued riot shirt that i got from a police officer 2 years ago

it's a large and goes down to the end of my crotch
it's a little wide in the shoulders, hangs down a little
i want to layer with it cause it's short sleeved and says "POLICE" in helvetica white across the chest and back

if i wanted to cut the bottom so that it frayed a little and so that other shirts could hang beneath it, would scissors do the trick? what's the best way to go about cutting a shirt?

Can you wear denim jackets with other color pants without looking like a fuccboi?

Somebody here said denim jackets are versatile but every fit I see with them has black bottoms. It not bad but I don't see how it's versatile if it looks bad without black and maybe grey.

Quality is just a buzzword you're using.

Is that Acne (just an example) shirt 20 times more comfortable? Does it hold up to 20 times the washes? Does it fit 20 times better?

No? Then why are you paying 20 times more for it?

W2C a decent parka or duffle coat in the UK at like £150 absolute max, preferably around £100 or below.

General question in that area, how should coats/jackets like that fit? What sort of layering should I do with them?

Also where can I see nice looking raincoats? I don't care how much they cost, I just want to see some nice (hooded) raincoats so I can get a feel for them.
