So should I?

Depends on the look you're going for.

Your question is like going "I'm trying to fix my car, should I use a wrench?". We can't tell you which tools to use unless we know what you want to achieve.

Thanks for your replies.
I have a thick hair and it's very hard to give it shape, it looks fantastic when it's wet, but it dries out quickly, so i want something to mosturize and give it shape for long periods of time, if it's not gel what else could I use.

Also, I know close to none about hair products

Pommade. Wax. Heck, mousse and/or hairspray might work for you. It's what I do. Remember that hairspray isn't a styling product but more of a finishing product. Just a quick layer of hairspray post-styling keeps mine up all day.

Gel tends to murder your hair, steer clear if you can.

Thanks for your answer
I have wax, i've tried it, i didn't like the results. Also I don't know how much should I use, I use about the size of a fingernail, is that enough? or should I use more instead?

As you can see it's not my field-

What exactly are you trying, what shape do you want to get it in?

sort of like this

Depends, is your hair thick or thin? It's definitly achievable with wax, but if your hair is thin like mine you'll need to use alot more than the size of a fingernail.

Wax should be able to do that, but the hold might not last. You might want to simply use wax to mold it into shape and top it off with a thin layer of hairspray. It should do the trick.

use american crew pomade insted

>> No.6878177

>>6878161
I found american crew's pomade did not have enough hold to give a textured look like what op is looking for. I use grooming cream, which is high hold, high shine. That might work a bit better.

pomade works better for shorter hair if you want texture and better for slick looks for longer hair

grooming cream is way too heavy
